Crime Someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

I don't know about the three gunmen theory. To me, it seems like all the gunshots came from the shooter and the CS team. He got off a few, and then was taken out. I don't hear any more then maybe four or five shots total. Granted, I haven't really looked into it too much.
8 shots, then sniper shot that killed him, and the 8 were definitely from 2 different shooters/guns.

First 3 presumably were from Crooks, pacing of a person who shoots but nothing special, and no echo, pause, then 5 of different caliber, had an echo, and very fast pacing of a competitive shooter. Last shot is the sniper.

Well, that just sounds like they had two CS teams shooting at him, which wouldn't surprise me. Is the theory that there were multiple assassins?

Yes there's a "grassy knoll" theory or two floating around

I mean, she had some of the lowest support from voters when she was running for president so it’s not an absurd argument.

Nah, they'll be disenfranchised if they force Trump out, then they'd have no platform to run on.

Are people really arguing that Kamala becoming the nominee disenfranchises Dems? I'm Biden's strongest solider but even I'm okay with it and I don't even like Kamala that much. She's just the obvious choice as his VP to succeed him. I didn't vote for just Biden, I voted for Biden-Harris.

As for her chances, I say everything's up in the air with how close the polls are. Clinton was heavily favored and we all remember how that went. If you want a more recent example we have the red wave, a red tsunami according to Joe Rogan, that turned out to be a red trickle. Dems have over-performed in special elections since Dobbs was reversed so I'm hoping we can carry enough of that momentum to November. I don't check polls often but I've heard down ballot Dems are polling well in key states.

And hey I hope you guys do get over confident, might as well stay home right? No need for you all to go out and vote, Trump's got it in the bag.

Why is she the best choice?

She wasn't even able to garner 1% of the vote during the 2020 Primaries and the only reason Biden picked her as VP was to check two DEI boxes. She had to quit the primary early when there were still 15 other candidates because she was so awful.

She's been a running joke with every public appearance for the last three years.

Honestly, I don't give a fuck because she's going to get destroyed. If I was a Democrat I'd be pissed that the DNC is trying shove this cackling idiot down everyone's throats because... why? Has she really shown in three years she has any idea what she's doing? And you're going to put her up against other world leaders?

And now we're going to listen the media lie about her qualifications after the same media spent the last year gaslighting everyone there wasn't issues with Biden and that videos of him bumbling around were "Cheap Fakes".

Lol... "Cheap Fakes" - How long did that bullshit term last?

So what's the latest in Lefty Media Land?

How Kamala got her groove back

Holy hell...

Probably, but nobody knows where any sniper would have come from who fired 5 rapid shots and didn't hit him.

It is an absurd argument, that's why you ignored the rest of my post where I articulate why its an absurd argument. Nothing wrong with Harris succeeding Biden when we voted for Biden-Harris.

She's the best choice because she is the Vice President who famously succeeds the president when he can't continue. In the context of a campaign handing the reigns to Kamala minimizes chaos and infighting which is why the GOP is so bothered that the party has closed ranks behind Kamala instead of giving into the dysfunction. Additionally she is legally entitled to the Biden-Harris campaign funds in a way that no other candidate would be. She also is Biden's VP so she can run on his record without the baggage of his old age.

Funny thing is that is what happened with Trump which is why he's complaining about Biden stepping down and Harris taking his place. This is where the "subvert democracy" talking point is coming from and all his toy soldiers have gotten the marching order and acted accordingly.

Vice presidents/running mates aren't elected.

Vice presidents/running mates aren't elected.
The running mate is chosen by the candidate and then the candidate and their running mate get elected. Of course most are voting for the nominee for president and not the VP but everyone knows that one of the VP's core functions is to succeed the president.

He’s too far gone.
Arguing that the VP's role to succeed the president makes them the logical choice to succeed the incumbent nominee four months out from the election is "too far gone"? You're really jumping the shark lately.

So they're NOT elected.
Voters vote for the combined Biden-Harris or Trump-Vance ticket so I do think its fair to say they are elected even if most people are casting their ballot for the presidential nominee. And again a core function of the VP is to succeed the POTUS so I don't see what the big issue with Kamala succeeding Biden in the primary presents. Further, I think its telling that most of the hand-wringing over this is coming from the right and not Biden voters like me.

lol... That would be true for succeeding Biden if had to bow out before his term was up. Biden picked her as VP, not the voters.

And it doesn't mean that she's the one Democrat voters would chose if given the chance. And don't try to claim she would have been. She's terrible

She's had the worse approval numbers of any VP since Dan Quayle... And lord help us if something had happened to Bush Sr and that moron had become president.
Y'all are being forced to jump on the Kamala wagon because the DNC has anointed her as the Democrat candidate.

Guarantee if Biden had bowed out far earlier as he should have and there was an actual primary, she'd get fucking destroyed.

But hey... Keep telling all of us how much you're enjoying the turd sandwich is that the DNC has forced on you.

lol...

There's not really much needed in terms of marching orders when the dems screeched about Trump being a threat to democracy for years and now they pull this little trick.

With so much irony the jokes write themselves.
