The primary elections DID happen.A recent poll indicates she has strong support from voters
I voted for Bernie twice, 2016 and 2020, and then Biden in 2020 and I'm perfectly okay with this.
They didn't want her in 2020 and neither did I but we're talking about a different race with different circumstances.
Its telling that the majority of folks making this absurd argument are on the right whereas I, an actual Biden voter, is the one who is okay with it. You were never going to vote Democrat either way so why does it matter to you?
Uh sure, I didn't like Kamala and I still voted for Biden. But I did so knowing she would succeed him if necessary and we've gotten to that point, at least in the presidential race.
Biden wasn't nominated yet though, the convention has yet to happen. Going into it now Kamala has all the momentum which reduces chaos and confusion and that is good for the party and its chances to beat Trump.
I never said otherwise but when I voted for Biden-Harris I accepted that she might succeed him and now that we need someone to succeed n the presidential race I think his VP is the obvious choice. What is weird about that? Obviously I want minimal Democratic infighting and disruption while you want the opposite but try and think about this from the perspective of a Democrat whose priority is beating Trump rather than some Pyrrhic victory where my preferred candidate gets nominated but loses to Trump.
Sure she's not succeeding him in the sense that Biden is stepping down but I think if Biden isn't the candidate then the obvious choice is his VP who is part of the Biden-Harris ticket that has been campaigning and receiving funds. Trying to find another nominee four months out would be chaotic and would hurt the party's chances of beating Trump when right now we need the party to close ranks behind one candidate.
I didn’t comment on whether it’s better for the dems to have a candidate heading into the convention. But she wasn’t voted by democratic voters in the primary. That doesn’t mean they won’t vote for her in the general against Trump. But the democrats didn’t go through a voting process to put her at the top of the ticket. She was anointed.
