what is there to argue about related to a failed assassination attempt? other than clearly there was a security breakdown that needs addressing going forward. scary shit.
that, and obviously the political discourse in this country is a problem. and instead of making it better we just continue to make it worse.
Key Information that needs to come out
- What happened to Security? Massive failure on Secret Service and local law enforcement.
This one is going to take awhile. Fingers will be pointed at head of SS, Cheatle. Some of the detail on hand didn't appear to know what they were doing and were overwhelmed in the response.
There's bystanders saying they say the shooter and tried for several minutes to alert police officers and Secret Service.
There's a prelim report that an officer climbed the ladder that the shooter used to confront him, but the shooter pointed and threatened the officer, who then backed off and the shooter took his shots... possibly rushed, saving Trumps life, but dooming the bystander who was shot in the head.
Honestly, I don't give two shits about the shooter anymore. Was he left? Right? Who gives a fuck? There's fucking crazies on both sides of spectrum. I have zero doubt there's right wing psychoes who'd tried to kill Biden and there's plenty on the left who'd take out Trump.
It wasn't that long ago where a crazy Bernie supporter shot several republicans and almost killed Steve Scalise. We can play the tit for tat of who has the worst crazies on the other side. And it goes nowhere
So... how did this massive security lapse happen? Dan Bongino (former secret service) gives a pretty run down
Bongino was also told that DHS agents were brought in instead of actual agents.
And yes... I remember this... lol
This is the central issue of the whole situation. That some 20 year old kid was able to breach security of one of the best security forces in the world?
The easy, low hanging fruit target is unqualified agents.
Another one is the Head of SS, Kimberly Cheatle
