Someone died at the Crossfit Games

it finally dropped

This is the only video in the entire library of YT that won't fkin play. It won't go 2 seconds without buffering. Every other video works fine.

They scaled him down to 56k upload so it doesn't get attention.

The short answer is: it'll depend. It'll depend on the waiver itself and the allegations. It's almost certain the family will allege more than just negligence against CrossFit. They'll likely allege everything from gross negligence to willful and wanton acts against CF. I don't know what state the waiver was signed in, but different states come to different conclusions on what can be waived. My guess is that the family will sue, it'll survive an initial motion to dismiss, and CF will settle. But that's just purely a guess.

Caveat: I'm a lawyer but I haven't been in litigation for about 5 years now.

Also, I think Disney dropped that argument on the wrongful death case. Insane that they tried it in the first place.

lol, I had not heard about this Disney ordeal so looked it up, that's nuts

also, why did u choose SocraticMethod as a username? I'm currently reading Plato for the first time (I know..) so I got curious

It really is nuts. I wonder if it was a terrible lawyer's decision or some yahoo higher up with Disney forcing the lawyers to make the argument against their cautions about how bad it will look. I'd guess the latter, but you never know.

I was in law school when I joined Sherdog. The Socratic Method is the style of teaching in law school. Semi-related, my close personal friend @MatterOverMind added the bloodshot eyes and coffee cup to my penguin av while I was studying for the bar.

I saw that Disney dropped their argument. But what a way to get bad press though, "oh your wife died because of dietary restrictions at our resort? Well, can't sue us because you enjoyed a free trail of our streaming service 3 odd years ago"
