I don't think the Diaz loss is a good measuring stick for why they shouldn't fight. If he beats Pettis it will say a lot about where he is. Pettis by all accounts is a phenom freak athlete who has some of (if not the) best striking in the division.

If he were to beat Pettis decisively I think you'd have to give him a shot. I think having a title eliminator with Gray is pretty silly considering he had 2 bids for the belt last year alone and only had 1 fight in between.

Cerrone, outside of losing to Nate, would have gone 9-1 since his loss to Bendo 2 years ago should he beat Pettis.
