So I started collecting vinyl again

@TeTe this is worth a read if you're concerned about import tariffs. Recorded media is now exempt however many couriers are still implementing charges 'just in case' something changes

Thanks... I bought a record from Germany a couple weeks ago and was concerned about this. Glad to know we won't be getting fucked on this.

Yeah, now that the tariff stuff is hitting packages, I'm going to be hitting up rummage sales and thrift stores. I don't want to chance it.

Apparently there are still a lot of packages that are incurring huge charges they shouldn't get. Eventually it will be ok, but expect a lot of delays and unnecessary expenditure in the mean time

Walked past a full aisle of records at Target. Not cheap.

Since the court said current tariffs are illegal, they should have ordered them removed immediately and stop the damage instead of leaving them in place until appeal.

even though they just sit in a bin in my living room I ordered this, one more and I have the 4-album elementals set.
I have a record player in a prominent position in my living room but it just doesnt get used. I'm not a 20 year old throwing ufc parties anymore.

This did NOT have to happen!

Now this is a score. 2001 UK pressing which is the only official pressing of this record. Got this for a hundo... But it regularly sells for about $300 in VG condition on discogs.

The New Version of Abbey Road

It's good to see you fellas are not like comic book collectors who just keep the mags in clear envelopes, caring more about their value than the actual content.

I only ever listened to vinyl when it was the primary media. I always hated how hard it was to avoid scratches. Is that a problem for you collectors?

One thing I will always love about records/vinyl is the album art. No other format can match that.

Come to think of it, during the records or vinyl epoch, albums were a bit like novels. The very sequence of the tracks meant something. I don't get the same impression with digital packages.

Even worse are people who grade records

What a waste
