Shoyoroll Her Honor

Looks like budo still has a virtually full stock. Surprised this didn't get more attention, if not for the charity work alone.

I think MOST people would not buy the gi for charity, alone, unless they are personally impacted by the cause. For example, a friend of mine was selling bracelets for a Chrohn's Disease fundraiser. Because I would not wear the bracelet, I did not buy the bracelet. Instead I donated cash to the charity in a separate fundraiser of hers. In other words, I think if people wanted to support breast cancer, they would be more likely to give a $20 cash donation than they would be to buy a gi with pink on it. Most guys would probably prefer to buy the next batch of SYR's, and give $20 to cancer, than wear the pink. I love the pink/gray combo and like the look of the gi more than others out there, and that is why I wanted it. I think it is GREAT that proceeds to to a charity, but it is not what influenced me to buy the gi. Just my 2 cents.

On a side note, no more than 10 minutes before the SYR website listed the gi as sold out, they had it available in every size.

Howard Kombat Kimonos does split sizes.

I like a little more bling. LOL The HCK's are a little plain for my taste. Atama has some nice looking women's gis in split sizing. I need to lose a little more weight on the bottom, first, and then I will probably be all over them. :P

This is the way I feel. I rather just donate the $20 straight to the charity than buy a gi that I probably won't wear.

Looks like these 2 batches just aren't popular...SYR might be losing a little steam with all this "limited" batches.

The problem with their "limited" batches now are they aren't so limited. They had a demand before when their gi's were hard to get. Now everyone has a SYR, if you can't get one, you just weren't paying attention.

I think you could be right that demand will go down because more people have them now. I probably would not have bought "Her Honor" if my Lew v3 top wasn't too big. I would have wanted it, but I don't think I could have justified buying it. Have the batches always been this close together? I didn't like the last batch, and besides that, we cannot wear black at our academy.

The batches were never this close together. It used to be about 2 maybe 3 batches a year. Ever since the Ring/Rio Koi/Brasileiro, it seems they've been closer together. That's crazy that SYR's website sold out of the Her Honors and Budo still has them in stock.

On my phone so this is gonna be scattered:

I think budo is so stocked people people have decided to not trust their site when heavily loaded and they just go to SYRs site. But I agree, I think the demand for this was low for the charity reasons (not necessarily the colorway) and that it's the 6th gi in under 6 months they've released. People are tapped.

As for SYRs site still listing all of them, they list them even after selling out, they just don't tell you until you go through the entire ordering process.

Good to know!!! That would suck to go through the whole ordering process only to find they are sold out. I'll keep that in mind if I ever order through their website.

Even the comp lite is too boring? That gi is definitely they're attempt at bling lol

The comp lite is better than their others. Maybe if the lettering was pink and gray, with a pretty font, it would be better. ;)

budo still has A2's which usually sells out in 3 minutes. my guess is that not many people want a gi that has pink and are willing to pay 200 bucks including shipping for a white gi that is pretty plain. it's nice shoyoroll is donating a portion but again, they used to only cost 160.

Budo still has most of their sizes instock, just the fitted sizes are sold out.

With the new size additions, are the A1s running a bit bigger than before? The chart tends to agree but I am hoping others can confirm. I hope it hasn't changed because the A1s fit me so well. Thanks for any information.

A1 5'4" 140-165 (new chart)

I've got an A3 Rio Koi for sale on Ebay. I'd be willing to let it go for 225.

Who pays for the fees he will incur? Himself. Some people don't think about things like that. Paypal has fees that are paid by the seller. It's all really irrelevant since this is not a Rio Koi sell/buy/trade thread or even a Rio Koi kimono thread so his post does not belong here. But if he sells for what he paid plus the cost of S&H then he takes a substantial loss because of overhead. - E

Could you explain in detail?

when you sell items on ebay, you are charged a final selling fee based on the sale of your items. a percentage of the item is charged as a fee, as well as insertion fees and then you are responsible to pay that monthly if you sell items regularly. that is one reason why people sell items on ebay for more than they originally paid for it. 225 + shipping sounds about right and unless the seller was given the gi as a gift and flipped it, he pretty much makes only a very little bit of money off of the sale once all is said and done.

to put it in perspective, i just sold a pair of gloves and two pairs of shorts and i have to pay a fee of $14 dollars, and my items sold for a total of only $145

Dude pretty much covered it but forgot about the Paypal fees, which are in addition to eBay seller fees, even though eBay owns Paypal. Most all sales conducted on the bay are paid through PP, of course, since they push it like a motherfucker and it's free for buyers so they always want to use it, naturally. - E
