budovideos said they were going to release a video about details for the gi this past weekend......still nothing.

as for the release date of the gi, i bet they'll be shipped sometime next month; batch 6 took awhile.

I don't know. I've never bought one, but I assumed it was going to be around $200. Is it usually over 200?

I think the last few have been in the 140-160 dollar range. A lot of gis are in and around that price range.

Batch #7 NEWS!!! There will be a max purchase limit of 3 gis per person via budovideos.com and nhbgear.com for the presale in two days. Hopefully this helps everybody more fair chance to get one this batch. Thanks All!!! SYR

THANK YOU! it goes a long way toward being a "movement" when you do what you can to prevent commodification and profiteering by scalpers.

our gi's do run bigger. if you have any questions on size shoot us a message on facebook or email [email protected]

all sizing questions have been answered super quick on your FB page!

BTW, I didnt mean my comment as anything negative. I just know that since they run large, ordering bigger would be a horrible mistake lol. Im super stoked to pick up 1 of each of batch 7!!!

So would you recommend an A1 or A2 for me? (5'8, 155-165 lbs). A2 has always fit me well.

Also, could you link the Shoyoroll facebook page? Thanks.

Update:
I just saw your shoyoroll comp review. Wow, the A2 shoyoroll [right out of the bag] compared to the Vulkan Pro Light (I have the 2010 pro light) is much bigger. Hmm, quite the conundrum.

100% the A1!!! Even though the kimono was just a tad bit long (in the a1) it shrunk absolutely perfectly after one wash. The pants cannot be dried in the machine, so I have to hang dry those, but the kimono I throw in the dryer on high after every wash (same with my vulkans).

As you saw in my review, I am 155-160 and compete at feather and 5'8" as well, and the a1 fits like a freaking glove! The pants shrunk in the crotch area too much after one fluff dry cycle, but after 5 minutes of warm ups they are fine.

Hmm. I'm kinda hesitant to get the A1. Especially since I won't be able to return it and get an A2 should it turn out small. Yeah, in your pics the pants were smaller than the Vulkan pants. My Vulkan pants A2 fit me just right. What do you think about getting an A2 and washing/ drying it to get it smaller?

Thanks for the reply. I'll see what they have to say as well.

Shoyoroll run big?????? In Atama and Keiko I wear a A3 at 5'9 &1/2, 175-180lbs, bought a white and blue A2 from Batch #6, washed in cold water and hung dried them both. The blue pants are ok for training, but not IBJJF legal, the white ones I cant even wear, way too short and tight around the legs, jackets fit great. For batch 7, I was thinking about getting an A3 and trying to shrink it to see if that works, I love the feel of Shoyoroll Kimonos, but it will be my last if I can't get it the Batch 7 to fit right.

i really think the a1 will do you fine. i'm 5'4" and 155-160. the jacket fits great, shrinks up nice. sleeves are a bit long but i've got short arms. the pants are a bit long out of the bag, they drop past my heel and rest pretty flush on the floor. the ripstops didn't shrink but the cotton ones did. cotton fit perfect now. given you're a few inches taller than me, i think the pants would hit you right around your ankle (depending on your leg/torso proportions).

i wouldn't advise getting an a2 and attempting to shrink it. i don't think you'll be able to get enough shrinkage out of it. keep in mind that an a2 is gonna fit a guy around 30lbs heavier than you. that's a big hop.

your other option -- if you're dead set on one -- is to get an a1 and an a2, and then return the one you don't want.

good luck!

From my limited experience I would say you will have trouble shrinking the jacket to the desired size if you go A2. Like I mentioned, I throw my jacket in the dryer 1-2 times a week on high heat for about 50 minutes, and haven't experienced any shrinking outside of the initial 1/2" or so
The pants should be fine in the 7th son but the golden state is the same material as the 450, so I would was on cold and line dry the pants every single time

I got a keiko limited for Christmas in an A2 and it was like a wizards robe lol

Not sure if I will order. Sizing might be strange. Im 6'1 175. I have read the A3S has really skinny pants, and I manage to hold a disproportionate amount of mass in my legs. Not sure if A2 will be long enough.

Hmm, you think? On facebook, they say if I wanted a snug fit, that I should go with the A1 and A2 for a more loose fit. In the pics you posted, the pants were shorter compared to the Vulkan pants. My Vulkan pants come just below by ankles. Heh, maybe I need an A1 top and an A2 bottom. This is frustrating.

Any pics of the actual gi's surfaced ? I got batch 6 its enough shoyoroll for me right now unless they come out with a black and purple one .
