Should they just allow fence grabs?

Just keep doing what Herb did last night. It was an egregious foul in that it stopped a TD.

Take a point. It’ll stop soon enough.
It won stop, but that fence grab was so bad by Leon that if he had done it again,I would have taken 2 points off the 2nd one.

If you legalize fence grabs, you may as well ban wrestling. Being able to grab the fence will essentially make takedowns along the fence impossible

If all it takes to nullify wrestling is to be able to grab something to stabilize yourself, then wrestling is a lot less useful as a martial art than we've been led to believe.

easy fix is to send electric shocks through the fence when anyone does it

Have a new employee whose sole purpose is to hit the shock function on the electrified fence for fence grabs. No point deductions necessary.

Even better, make it so both fighters are wearing electrified cups and the shock employee can just hit a button for either one.

And it could be a random amount and random delay as well. So, say you grab the cage, you get one shock immediately as punishment for that. It doesn't need to be a huge shock. Just enough that you will immediately let go of the cage. And then after that there's another shock that happens at a random time within the next 5 mins, and the power of this follow up shock is random as well. Could be just a little friendly jolt to the balls/vagina, or it could be something that puts you on the canvas.

And the follow up shock doesn't get cancelled if the round/fight is over either. Grab the cage in the final minute and go on to win the fight? Well, you might be talking to Joe in the post fight interview and then ZAP!

I wouldn't comment on this if you haven't watched Abbott vs Ferozzo's UFC fight.

A lot of you are romanticising this idea

Its a weird rule if u think about it. Wrestlers can use the fence to push guys up against and trap them. But the other guy can’t use it to hold himself up? That seems to be a rule that favors grapplers.

If there was no fence, lots of guys wouldn’t be able to get people down.

it also helps with action too, takedowns have to be clean and technique driven, over use of the fence.

No, just take a point every time it happens, that's all

I used to think this would be a cool idea until I realized any sort of screen would be smeared with blood and sweat and whatnot within a fight or two and ruin the whole thing lol.

And Dana is too cheap to hire a crew to clean it between fights/rounds

Anyone who thinks fence grabbing should be allowed has probably never even been in a fight or done virtually anything physical in their life. The ability to grab onto something to keep yourself from falling/being taken down is game changing. An athlete can support a ton of weight just holding onto the fence

Fingers will be lost.

The other fighter can push their body into the fence to stand up. Also, less freak finger injuries
