Should they just allow fence grabs?

If the fence helps to trap guys, then imagine what it would be like if the trapper was also allowed to grab the fence and really seal in the poor opponent in between him and the cage links. That's the reason fence grabs were made illegal in the first place.
then legalize one handed fence grabs only

Remove the cage altogether. Whoever falls out instantly loses. Either that or they get shocked if they hold unto the cage.

Its a weird rule if u think about it. Wrestlers can use the fence to push guys up against and trap them. But the other guy can’t use it to hold himself up? That seems to be a rule that favors grapplers.

If there was no fence, lots of guys wouldn’t be able to get people down.

it also helps with action too, takedowns have to be clean and technique driven, over use of the fence.[/QUOTE
I've said for years- check me out- the fence should be made of razorwire.

I've thought that thought top... like hockey rink "glass" that can flex but would eliminate the fence grab.

Probably increase concussions though.

I'm pretty a league tried it(it had to be WAMMA).

But yeah, it probably wouldn't take long for fighters to start taking advantage of it and smashing their opponents' heads into it, at any given opportunity..

I subscribe to the Joe Rogan basketball arena, get rid of the cage sucks for viewers benefits nut huggers... although I can see an open arena floor turning the UFC into the point fighting championships.

Id rather they just use a modified boxing ring where the bottom rope to the mat is a mesh so grounded fighters cant fall out and prancing fairy point fighters can still be cornered.

Yeah, fence grabs are prohibited because if you are allowed to use your hands to grab something, takedowns are much more useless. Takedowns mostly work against people who are completely unprepared, or against people who will be penalized if they take reasonable action against them.

It's a case of the rules deliberately trying to give an advantage to a certain style.

Ultimate Finger Dislocation Championship looming.

There's no legit reason whatsoever to allow fence grabs.

Ive though about it.

Gonna be too hard, if it broke it'd slash the fuck out of someone and...

It's gonna get realllllllly messy and gross and impossible to see through.
It isn't made out of glass it's plastic and it more or less doesn't shatter or break unless you've got a rhino running round the cage

They can use the incline pit from Karate Combat. Wouldn’t even need a cage obscuring the audiences view at that point. Can even make it a steeper gradient.

I think you mean the YAMMA Pit. The greatest theatre of MMA ever.

Then you goobers would be complaining about wrestlers using the cage to enchance ground control and prevent guys on the bottom from escaping
