Should they ban assault weapons?

Should they ban assault weapons?

No we should not ban semi auto rifles with detachable magazines .... but if you are coming up on the no fly/terror watch list than you should not be able to buy a gun of any kind.

These lists are total bullshit, with no oversight or way to get off of them.

Sitting U.S. senators have been placed on "No Fly" lists.

Let's be serious. The government has nukes. They have tanks. Rockets. Submarines. We don't own any of that shit. The US government isn't the same type of government we had back then.

That's the way to win a war against a domestic insurgency! When in doubt nuke 'em. That'll really get the people on the government's side.

If that scenario ever played out the US government is in for a shit storm so long as the citizenry has semi automatic rifles.

'Not sure' what they mean by an assault weapon.
when Russel Crowe flipped out and threw a phone at a clerk at hotel, he was charged with an assault with a deadly weapon. this term is broad, and I am sure is the reason why it was used!

Here is Massachusetts, you have more of a chance serving a more lenient sentence if you are a 4 time violent felon than a law abiding citizen being involved in a self defense shooting outside of the home.

That's crazy

Well, Do we just lay back in the cut and chill?

No . . . as I said, include due process for any list of "suspected" anything and I don't think pro gun rights folks will have such an issue with it being used to prevent firearms purchases.

Have any of the recent proposals included that?

I'm actually looking to buy an AK (maybe for my birthday...) Either that or a new video card for my gaming P.C....

When is your birthday?

Don't pay panic prices for an AK. Just wait for the scare to die down.

Lets be serious... we have nukes but won't use them, certainly not on the US population. Tanks can be counteracted by mobile infantry... it's a fact, end of of story. Subs won't do a damned bit of good against the US population unless they are launching nukes... so again, that's useless in this scenario.

The US government is powerful, but the people are also powerful in terms of motivation and ingenuity. Look at the trouble a bunch of fucking goat herders have given us in Iraq and Afghanistan.

People who need guns are pussies.

I haven't voted because I'm not sure who is defining "assault weapons" or what that definition is.

As opposed to tearing up the Constitution over something that's responsible for roughly 1% of our gun homicides.
Where's your false outrage when 70 people get shot over 1 weekend in 1 city?

I already told you that I DO care about those who are killed by gun violence. I KNOW you're angry man and I GET IT, but I'm NOT your enemy. I DON'T WANT YOUR GUNS. I DON'T WANT TO BAN ASSAULT RIFLES. I just want expanded background checks. Let me repeat that. I NOW want EXPANDED BACKGROUND CHECKS. <-------

And if you haven't noticed... The Constitution got shredded when Dubya signed the "Patriot act" into law.

July, but I can wait. I'm a veteran and there's a firearms counter at my local BX. They can always order one for me.

I don't know but that's some great common sense to have that in there! I'm serious!

There is no reason to be upset.
Funny, you bring up Bush singing the PATRIOT Act but ignore Obama signing the NDAA which allows Americans to be indefinitely detained without due process. o_O

I'm against all of it and I called my senator JOhnny Isaksson (GA) more than once to fight President Obama on it. And if you haven't noticed, I tend to lean and vote Democrat. My point is that the Patriot Act was the shot that blew out the candle.
