Stop relying on foreign assholes and build your own nukes.

Not likely as full EU member.

However they might opt to agree with trade type stuff as EU/EEZ economic zone agreements Norway does have with EU.

Eurozone alone without all EU countries is 3 rd largest financial empire in this world.
Not to talk about all EU not only just eurozone.

Canada might get a lot of deals with EU/ EEZ countries and this might be lucrative for Canada.
Ofc skilled workforce there and here and expect Iceland...other part of EU/ EEZ might be happy to get more cheap high quality raw aluminium from Canada...also other stuff.

EEZ type agreement with EU might be golden ticket for Canada...

1. Easier to export / import etc...also other stuff etc. A lot of stuff.

2. Plus bonus that slow slails in EU will not instruct what to do and think in Canada.

I can't imagine Canada actually becoming a member of the EU but I can certainly see a deeper relationship between the two in several areas becoming reality. Now that the US is going the route of making itself less reliable it makes a lot of sense for the rest of the west to look at what can be done when the US doesn't want to take part.

Easy to instruct. Ofc North Korea and Pakistan like India had turned into humans for yanks when they get reality.

Yanks did all the best in their abilities in order to prevent other countries to build nukes and not only just this: they are selling overpriced weapons with a lot of clauses and are carefully watching that their clients will not be able to develop any more serious detterrent. Not only about nukes here.
Yanks are chinesse and russia buds in real life. Yanks are yanks and always here will be yanks ...not much more trustable than drunk russians.

They can't unless they give up their trade agreement with America, which isn't valid anymore the second they become EU members, because there still isn't a trade deal between America and the EU and trade policy is an exclusive domain of the European Commission.

Fuck no. The Canadians who support this are fucking stupid, crying over losing sovereignty to the US but lets willingly give it away to the EU instead !

Dear god no. As fucked up as the US is, the EU is even worse. We'd get absolutely fucked with their bullshit green energy policies and then we'd also have to deal with all their retarded economic & social policies as well. Hell the fuck no!

Like it or not the US is still our best partner in the long term, and if we can't work with them I'd much rather work with the BRICS nations instead of the EU. At least the BRICS will leave us alone and let us do our own shit instead of burying us with a bunch of retarded self-destructive policies.

Imagine Canada being a part of the EU but not the UK lol

I get it wouldn't quite be like that, but still a funny idea

I consider them a part of it already since their King is.

Canada is in advanced talks with the European Union to join the bloc’s new project to expand its military industry, a move that would allow Canada to be part of building European fighter jets and other military equipment at its own industrial facilities.

The budding defence cooperation between Canada and the European Union, which is racing to shore up its industry to lower reliance on the United States, would boost Canada’s military manufacturers and offer the country a new market at a time when its relationship with the United States has become frayed.

Shaken by a crisis in the two nations’ longstanding alliance since President Trump’s election, Canada has started moving closer to Europe.

The military industry collaboration with the European Union highlights how traditional U.S. allies are deepening their ties without U.S. participation to insulate themselves from Mr. Trump’s unpredictable moves.

Canada’s new leader, Prime Minister Mark Carney, this week made Paris and London the destinations of his first overseas trip since taking office on Friday, calling Canada 'the most European of non-European countries.'

So much for Donald Trump’s 51st state, Canada seems to be eyeing EU membership instead, with 46% of Canadians in favour according to a new poll.

While the US president repeatedly muses about making Canada the US' 51st state, Canadians are looking across the pond for new alliances.

A new Abacus Data poll shows that almost every other Canadian would support joining the EU, with 29% against and 25% undecided.

That’s far more enthusiasm than Trump’s secession plans for Canada, which only 10% of Canadians support.

This poll was conducted before Trump made good on his plans to impose tariffs on the northern neighbour, which could push support for joining the US even lower.

Support for EU membership among Canadians is even slightly higher than in the UK. A January poll showed 45% of Brits in favour of rejoining the EU – a gap that’s within the margin of error.

When asked by Euractiv about Canada's eligibility for EU membership, Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho said: "We are honoured with the results of such a poll. It shows the attractiveness of the EU. It shows the appreciation of a very large share of Canadian citizens for the EU – for its values."

Pinho did not directly rule out Canada's European prospects, but stressed that there are 'criteria foreseen in the treaties, indeed, which foresee what is necessary for an application, for an accession to take place.'

Canada already has a free-trade agreement with the EU, which is its second-largest export destination after the United States.

About 68 per cent of those surveyed said they had a positive view of the bloc, which is double the amount of people - 34 per cent - who said they had a positive view of the US.
