Some people say GSP tapped to strikes in first Serra fight.

I didn't wanna include that one because Mirko actually poked him in the eye and then Barnett tapped. But Josh didn't make no excuse about it. Mirko 95% would've won anyways that fight but he put his finger straight into Barnett eye.

He used that excuse for the second Nog fight too. Like how does that work. I guess 30% of all fights can be excused that way.

Or even worse, Weidman Munoz. It's easy to say what other guys should've done when you don't got the balls to even go out there and spar for real, let alone fight in a cage over and over again. I think if you don't fight you can't talk shit about people quitting.

That's what the refs are for and your corner to throw in the towel if you are done. Most people that have tapped to strikes could still fight, they just gave up. They weren't out yet and they could've still kept fighting. If you can tap you can punch. GSP just didn't want to risk getting knocked out completely, so he tapped since he was rocked. Other fighters fight through that.

First fight as an amateur is more about experience and minimizing injuries. You can risk injuries if what is on the line is worth it. Amateur fights where nothing is on the line and you aren't getting paid for it, focus on your health and being able to keep fighting after that. Save that for pro fights and when a lot of money and a title is on the line. You won't make it there if you are burned out physically before that point. Also people only really care about pro records, so amateurs is just about experience.

Really it's a lot to do with mentality. A lot of fighters aren't ok with tapping to strikes and submissions, others are. It's very dependent on the fighter and their fight mentality.

The 2 biggest that get shit on for tapping/quiting are Shogun and BJ both these guys took horrible and don't think either could go on. The funny thing is I was never fans of ether untill these fights, both guys showed tremendous toughness and deserve respect

These doofuses watch folks tap due to a choke, the least painful thing that can be done to you in mma, without a problem and then freak out when a dude taps to strikes. Simple proof how many of these goofs have never actually been in a fight. And I know, I know, yall are 6' 4" 265 with a six pack and would never tap to strikes. Go touch grass ya dorks.

Well you're on sherdog fighters who tapped are in the UFC. You're a nobody they are fight millionaires. Your opinion does not matter and only a few of us nerds will even see that it existed. Being tough. I mean you're explaining how other people should be tough. What have you done ? Have you done what you preach and went out there building a career ? I have to say though you actually watch the Shogun/Jones fight and this is NOT an example of lack of toughness, Rua gets the crap beating out of him for almost 10 mins before he finally taps basically due to Jones inability or unwillingness to actually put him away whilst he's so gassed he can barley stand.

Yes,it is different.

Some may believe they can ride the time out,and do better in the next round. Or wait for the guy to get tired,and try to get something goin from there. Some fighters may not be able to extricate themselves,but dont have quitting in them.
