Shogun tapping to strikes

I have to say though you actually watch the Shogun/Jones fight and this is NOT an example of lack of toughness, Rua gets the crap beating out of him for almost 10 mins before he finally taps basically due to Jones inability or unwillingness to actually put him away whilst he's so gassed he can barley stand.
Yes it wasnt just the severe beating,he was outclassed. Shogun gave all he had,and realized it wasnt going to be nearly enough.

When Shogun fought Hendo,he was able to turn it around when Hendo started getting tired, and he took a severe beating in that fight too but was able to soldier on. His heart cant be questioned. With Jones, well that wasnt going to happen, and he knew it.

Does this count as a tap to strikes. Looks like the tap came after the stoppage.

People who hate Shogun or have some anti-pride agenda dont care about what it's listed as.

I never understood people who look down on tapping to strikes. Even if you do push-ups there comes a moment when your body just can't go for one more push up. Your muscles are done. Same thing goes with combat sports. When you realize that your body is done, why is it bad to tap to strikes and save yourself from more unnecessary damage? Its not, it's actually the smart move.

Exactly Shogun and GSP took way more punishment then average. Average fighters would have curled up and wrapped their hands around their head waiting for a stoppage way way sooner.
Also the Hendo fight. Shogun showed crazy durability in his career and heart. Unlike nerds criticizing him.

Never ever got the hate for tapping to strikes. You guy's clearly haven't had a grown man on top of you raining down hard punches. Most of you usually just have grown men on top of you.
A lot actually came from shogun and pride fans shitting on gsp for doing it.

That's why shogun fans cop it so bad here, they use to say he'd never tap and blah blah blah.

Sometimes I wonder if yall watched PRIDE.

You can see how fighters feel about tapping to strikes in this gif.

Arona, the mean little bastard, clearly sees Overeem tapping out and then gives him one final smack in the face for it.

Lol @ TC sig. What a clown, dude probably loves when guys get on top of him and make him "tap".

Tapping to strikes is completely legit. Only an idiot would think otherwise. These are professional fighters, one would think that they know when to quit better than fat fucks on sherdog.

A lot of people thought George threw the fight at the time and some still do.

I've never heard those allegations but I believe you. There were retards then and there are retards now. Believing GSP threw that fight should only be rewarded by an immediate vasectomy.

GSP tapped too. Forrest Griffin did it twice.
Overeem tapped vs Arona.

Doesn't have something to do with what org they first fought at.
When did Forest tap to strikes? Don’t tell me the Rashad fight when he was literally unconscious and flailing his arms about.

Rashad, Shogun 2 and he quit vs Anderson from strikes. So 3 times total.

He was first tapping the mat with his palm while flailing from strikes. Obviously tried to tap out and sort of succeeded. If you can't see it it just means you are less inteligent then people who can. And biased.

I fucking hate this topic. I just don't understand why it's acceptable to tap to a choke, but not to repeated head strikes that you can't escape from.

With the discussion of pride fighters in the ufc these days, this makes me wonder.

Is shogun the only pride fighter to tap to strikes?
Does paul craig have enough stopping power in his punches to make a legend quit in mid fight?

<LikeReally5>

No shame in that. I don't understand why is tapping to strikes so bad?

I broke my wrist years ago, had two surgeries on it to fix it but I would rather repeat that than be brain damaged.

No Arona is an ass. He also held a choke for too long.

I honestly don't care or get why anyone makes a big deal out of tapping
