Imagine thinking Mousasi has had a better MW career than Anderson. How long has Moose defended a belt for again?

Hendo is pretty overrated. It's like there's a whole section of Sherdog that recognizes his wins only and doesn't even acknowledge that his losses ever happened.

SMH. Sad to say, he is but it's somewhat true. And I'm not basing that off his record. The man was beaten by Frankie Edgar twice in his prime, yet some foolish people excuse it for lack of motivation. Even at his best, his run at 155 was not Godly like a some make it see., and he did have weaknesses that people who don't pay attention couldn't see. For instance he really liked to go toe to toe and was pretty flat footed at times. Very entertaining in his prime. I paid for his cards.

I think a lot of people think BJ won that first fight against Frankie.

Shogun has won enough fights in the past years he wasn't "supposed to". Even vs Machida people were counting him out. That's not the definition of overrated. And the guy went toe to toe with PED hendo twice and held his own, even though he took two L's. The first fight is still a draw imo. Have a good day

Yoel is adequately rated on this forum. you'll hear little claim that he's unbeatable, you'll hear NO ONE say he's the best MW ever or anything even remotely like that.

I disagree with Gaethje I don't think he's overrated, he's just highly likeable which is understandable. The rest there is a line of reasoning to.

Maybe considering the hype, but in a perverse sense I think it's almost come full circle now and he's underrated. It's back to being Aldo was a fluke, full camp and cream Mendes would have crushed him, he lost to Diaz twice, the decision was fixed, and Eddie was paid to take a dive sorta stuff.

Interesting take on all that. I think that the moral is people confuse massive fan adoration with "overrating" While at conors peak (UFC 178-205) He had Question marks about how good he was, we knew his striking was very very good, but there was always the "what about his ground game?" crowd that wasn't buying it.

Romero, Mousasi and Shogun are 3 great fighters, of course that some random fan boys are going to claim that they are invincible but that happen with every fighter including really bad fighters, in general I would say that all 3 of them are cataloged in Sherdog as very good and dangerous fighters but not with GOAT status

Who is the most overrated fighter in Sherdog history? I'm not talking about overrated by the "casual fans" or general public. I'm talking specifically about members of these forums.

Almost anytime these men are brought up, people act as if no one could beat them when evidence suggests otherwise. Shogun not so much anymore, but for a long time people couldn't get over "prime" Shogun. The man's prime was so short it's almost irrelevant, lol. But at least he was able to defeat the undefeated Dragon. Unlike the next contender.

Mousasi fans always swear by him that he can beat almost any opponent by whatever he wants not named Jon Jones. But this guy got schooled by an older Machida, when he was touted by his fans as a striking GOD, who would eat Anderson for breakfast. Ironically the only other person people feel Gegard would match up badly against is someone I think he'd beat.

That man is Yoel "Never loses a fight according to God" Romero. According to Sherdog he's the scariest fighter to ever live. With his muscles and Olympic wrestling that he rarely relies on. "But his muscles and his power." Don't get me wrong, Romero is a fighting genius in his own right, but he is limited. Much more so than many of his fans can see.

So who takes the crown, or is there someone else you have in mind.

You're incorrect on the length of Shoguns prime, it's not short at all....his prime lasted from 2004 to 2012. He slowed down at that point.

He simply stated that Mousasi had loses on his record. Most likely he picked Fedor because he is a highly respect MMA that also has around the same amount of loses on his record. Don't look to much into it.

I'm one of the biggest Mousasi Nut huggers on this site, i'm usually in every thread about him - I've never once seen someone argue that he's "The most dangerous opponent for Jon Jones" or the MW GOAT. One of the best MW's in the world? Sure, i'l put him in the top 5 all day every day. The Greatest Middle Weight of All time? Nah.

No, stupid. He didn't. He said just like every other great, he has some losses. He didn't compare the opponents, or how they lost. Just that they both lost. And he's right.
