Elections Sherrod Brown not running for President

I hear a lot of people say that, but most of them are people with strong authoritarian tendencies, CTers, Trump fans, etc. I think she would do better in a Republican primary, with minimal rebranding.
I don't like her or care too much, I just got a feeling. Odds point to Kamala Harris or Bernie. If I was American I'd vote for Sherrod but now I'd vote for Bernie. Tulsi Gabbard looks terrible

A couple of friends who are pretty normal Democrats really like her. I don't understand it. I will say she has a broad appeal, and that could always turn into something if you catch just the right populist wave, I guess. It's all too complicated for me to understand.

Odds in the predictions market right now are 1) Biden, 2) Sanders, with Harris & Booker being just below them, if I remember correctly. That will change but it's the best way to measure for now.

Why does Gabbard look bad to you?

I didn't see Biden in the odds I checked is he officially running?
Inexperienced mostly, she doesn't seem to have any solid proposals outside of foreign policy, although I agree with her there in a lot of points.

Sorry, switch Booker out for Beto, my mistake. On Predictit. Sanders ahead of Biden too.

My biggest concerns with her are ethical (she really seems to like dictators, and was a cultist which matters to me a lot), followed by her lack of experience.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the dictator stuff, considering the US coddles to Saudi Arabia it isn't that bad to help Assad when it, in my opinion, made a lot of sense. The cult stuff is bad but I think she moved away from it, she seems to be have been forced by her parents to join that stuff.

I’m from Cleveland and the mood around here was he was definitely running. Rumor was he was announcing it today, so you can imagine all of our surprise when we heard he’s not in.

He almost certainly cut a deal with someone to stay out, with who I’m not sure. He’ll be a VP pick.

He was possibly my top choice (top three for sure), but I think he could have (probably rightly) concluded that him staying in the Senate is more important. People make a lot of relatively small ideological differences among primary candidates, but the fact is that one of the best-case scenarios for America is that the single most moderate Democratic senator can essentially veto any legislation.

I agree with you, of course replacing Sherrod’s seat would’ve been a problem we would love to deal with.

A lot of us, myself included, felt he was very electable. Name recognition hurt, but he felt like one candidate the party could rally behind.
