Sherdog has a weird, irrational hatred for Belal

It’s cute how some people are acting like Colby is much different than Belal lol.
It's definitely weird. Colby's claim to fame are his 2 losses to Usman. Aside from that he's never been interesting to watch.

Fighters i find a very high percentage of sherdog like. (As close to unanimous as possible)

-Whittaker
-Mousasi
-Burns
-Moreno
-Condit
I don't think I've ever seen a Whittaker hater. I think he's the most beloved fighter ever.

There are some, but these people just have so much hate in their heart they gotta put it somewhere.

I don't hate Belal, I think he's a pretty good guy, actually.

Respect his effort and dedication to fighting and conditioning.

But he literally excels at nothing.

Not an elite striker.
Not an elite submission artist.
Finishes very few fights.

Not exactly a GQ model, either.

He is a good, workmanlike performer, and that is all that he is.

Can't fault him for that; but can't really get motivated to watch him perform, either.

It is what it is.
Pretty much the ultimate example of hard work and minimal talent when compared to other ranked fighters.

Explain how he was able to kick that much with only 1 leg.
He was visibly limping a day or two before the fight. I dunno the extent of that injury or whatever, but there was footage of it,.

Minimal talent??

so boring = minimal talent?

That same ppl touting Belal's 49-46 over a man without 1 his 4 limbs shit on Colby for his 50-45 against Masvidal. And vice versa.

Is it too much to ask for some fucking consistency from some of you standard-fluid individuals?
49-46 against ranked opponents, vs 49-46 against 2 crusty war torn vets on a long losing streak.
Seriously, why are Covington fans so disengenous?

He’s a points fighter with 3 finishes and 0 knockdowns over the course of 20 ufc fights but talks like this

Well yeah.

The UFC have proven it doesn't matter how boring a fighter's style is (Strickland, Covington), just talk shit and you'll get your shot.

Can you blame Belal for playing the game?

He has a small, very vocal annoying fanbase. Not an exciting fighter but deserves his props.

Belal:
  • 9 fight win streak
  • Defeated 3 top 5 opponents (Wonderboy, Luque, Burns)
  • Fought below in the rankings off a win and beat an undefeated fighter
  • Always been active
  • Found a way to neutralize every opponent
But Sherdog is still crying about him being an 'average' and 'boring' fighter.

On second thoughts, being on a 9 fight win streak and beating top 3 opponents is nothing special. And why is he smart with his game planning? Why doesn't he just go out there and play to his opponents' strengths? Why does he minimize damage and not mindlessly brawl like Chandler and Gaethje?

You don't have to like the guy but holy shit this place feels like reddit with all the circle jerking and recycled belal hate. If you're still denying him at this stage then you're just another hater. Plain n simple.

Haters will be seeing a lot more Belal now that he got his title shot secured. Enjoy.

Following MMA is a recreational activity. It is supposed to be fun. Fighters with a boring style (in or out of the cage) won’t get a ton of love. Not the end of the world.

Hes the #1 contender thats all i know ..

nope

it’s equally as ridiculous when Strickland does it just to jab his opponent for 25 mins

Sean short of fights, is he?

No, because the UFC reward the fact that he pours words out of his mouth.

They don't care what he actually does in the cage.

yeah I was agreeing with you

it’s funny to watch the most play it safe fighters make these violent threats but hey it works

My bad.

Time much War Room for me!

I could have pretended I was sort of agreeing with you, but I'm glad you corrected me :)

Yeah, they have to do what Dana guides them towards, and that's a bit of a shame because I think ultimately when Dana goes, the UFC will change for the better.

He's too good to be denied. there is no other contender with a better unbeaten streak:

He's a 100% stick to the game plan type fighter with zero killer instinct, nor ever having the intent to finish. I thought his fight with Burns was entertaining but man I really thought if he stepped on the gas a little it wouldn't have gone the distance. Belal could have made a huge statement the other night.

The guy is a tough sell no matter how you want to slice it.

I think you're confusing "Sherdog" with "the UFC". Sherdog wanted Belal to get the next title shot over Colby. Not to say that was the unanimous opinion but that was the general vibe.
