I put a good amount of time into the game and I enjoyed it but it's really not my cup of tea. I saw it on Plus and downloaded it to try it out and got hooked for a bit. That was until I realized you need a notebook (which the game recommends) just to stay on top of everything. There's definitely a market out there and after visiting the subreddit, there is a very strong community.
I would have enjoyed it if it was just a straightforward adventure without the roguelike repetition. I played for a bit when it was on Game Pass because the woman I was dating loved it. Eventually, I tapped out and just held the notebook while she played, lol.

Some of the people on the games sub-reddit get very carried away with their notebooks. They look like they were preparing for medical exams.

I have no idea what typical profit margins look like in the video game industry, but 30% profit margins seem pretty high for basically any industry, so this seems like a wildly unrealistic target.
About half usually, and that's for publishers who aren't carrying loss leading hardware and managing inventory, etc.

Battlefield REDSEC - a free to play battle royale releases tomorrow

Trailer releases tomorrow too for some reason

Is this the official BR for Battlefield 6 or something otherwise entirely?

Official BR for BF6 but I think it's like Warzone for COD where you don't need to buy the full game to play it

Considering the retail game client has a option to uninstall the single player campaign. It'll likely be integrated into the main retail client and retail game digital storefronts as the free to play download.

What comes first: Elder Scrolls 6 or GTA 6?

Destiny 2 hasn't reached Sony's expectations following $3.6bn Bungie acquisition, admits CFO

In today's earnings report, Sony has recorded a loss in profit in its games segment due to "impairment losses against a portion of Bungie, Inc.'s intangible and other assets in connection with Destiny 2."

Expanding on this during a Q&A, Sony CFO Lin Tao stated: "Regarding Destiny 2, partially due to the changes in the competitive environment, the level of sales and user engagement have not reached the expectations we had at the time of the acquisition of Bungie."

She continued: "While we will continue to make improvements, we downwardly revised the business projection for the time being, and recorded an impairment loss against a portion of the assets at Bungie."

Still, Tao noted Sony's live-service games "overall accounted for more than 40 percent of our first-party software revenue", citing the likes of Helldivers 2 and MLB: The Show 25 (and their respective Xbox releases).
The last time I jumped into Destiny I couldn't tell what the hell was going on.

I love the gun play in Destiny but it’s shocking how horrible the setup is for new players.

I remember jumping in once and being forced to do some story content right away that was shockingly hard. I could see any other person just exiting and playing something else.
I'm not even a new player, technically. I played the shit out of Destiny through House of Wolves. I used to solo Crota on normal mode for fun, and carried shitters across all the heroic raids (the type who incessantly cry about cheaters on PC in cross-platform MP modes in chat who probably aren't even cheaters, they just can't even fathom how good people can get legitimately). I was in the top 5% of PvP players. I actually left because all of the changes in Taken King they introduced that catered to less skilled players alienated me (ex. jumping caused bloom).

The game was incredibly casual in the PvE portions, always. I strongly doubt difficulty is an issue causing this. The issue for me was I didn't feel any sense of attachment to the story. I couldn't even tell what the hell the story was trying to be, anymore.

Apparently, Arcade 1 Up is shutting down?

For at least PC, player retention holding at a healthy 91% for newly-launched shooter ARC Raiders while Battlefield 6 sees 86% loss for the same, reports Tech4Gamers. Oof.

I haven’t played either game but is this a case of ARC coming out after and stealing the player base from BF6? I thought people were really enjoying BF6 so why the drop off?
