I get behind any card from the major promotions... for like.... 23/24 years now and have done nothing but drag friends and people around me into it lol....

You can call it captain hindsight, but it's crazy how many times the front page has threads like that, just because there's "no big names" they have to shit all over it. -- and then it's "hey, not that bad"....

One thing I've never figured out about fans who only want to watch names they recognize is how they come to recognize names in the first place. Part of the reason I enjoy early prelims is because you never know when you're going to get to see the next great prospect, or even just the next fun fight guy, if you see what I mean.

Big names don't always deliver the entertainment.
Unknown names certainly can deliver the entertainment.
Don't sleep on the "free on TV" cards. Those unknown names are probably action fighters.

I don't know how many times this has to be said, some of these cards that "suck" according to the fickle asshats out there -- More often than not, they are fun.

• Blood -- and I mean blood. A true gift from the just bleed gods.
• Crinkle toes -- Rare to see someone foot stomping themself to keep there toe in place.
• Back and forth old school grappler vs striker.

Quite honestly for all those that bitch about free cards and garbage cards, if you're not out at a game or movie or bar or some shit, what the hell else are you really doing on a Saturday night?

Watching network television?
Magic the gathering with people that smell like board game farts?

Cards like this are often entertaining and fun, but for 2-3 fucking weeks all these "this card sucks" threads just jizz all over the front forums page.

That's another point I was trying to make.

I don't care if you watch or not, none of my fucking business, right?

... but to go out of the way and say "I'm not watching" -- it's generally like... "well.... bye". No one has a gun to yer head. I just don't get why you wouldn't if there isn't a better option for any given fight card, be it nobodies or a card with 3 world titles or some shit. These elite top 10 guys don't just show up one day, but once they do, oh boy, now I'll watch just because of that... or just because everyone else is on the bandwagon.

Shit man, I like baseball in person because you can drink beer and shoot the shit -- but let's face it, outside of the play offs and world series, it's pretty boring. Sorry baseball fans, don't crucify me.

Thing is : If it's mid afternoon, and I'm.... working in the garage for example. Why not throw on the game while doing some work? I know not everyone HAS the option, and I'm not trying to be "elite" -- but it's the same goddamn radio as puttin on some music on your phone while you do something else. FM Radio while doing something = better than NOTHING. I'd go fucking NUTS at work without music lol. I'll take new wave POP or Country RAP over NOTHING, and I'm a goddamn metal head born and raised.

But do you see how few of these people are honestly telling me, and that's all I'm asking, WHAT ARE YOU DOING INSTEAD? Waxing your carrot on pornhub? Why not do both? I mean during the dude fights you could get a bit weird with it if someone walks it.... but that's it.

What else were you doing? Getting laid is always an acceptable answer. Going to a movie? COOL! Happy for ya. But to just SHIT on it, and then make posts while it's on... what the fuck else are you doing? There are NUMEROUS people that say they won't watch, then sit on these very forums during the event saying "yawn...."

Nothing on the card seemed worth a watch live.

Highlights seemed decent but not worth watching a 6+ hour event. Which from what I’ve heard didn’t carry momentum to the main card for the most part.

There are free mma events nearly every day of the week with the same potential to perform that I also skip.

As I get longer into my mma fandom, I just don’t have it in me to make an exception just because it’s UFC. Plus there are actual great cards incoming.

The UFC used to be the home of only elite MMA, "the best of the best", and they would load their cards with prospects. Recently they have basically turned into Invicta or regional level MMA, but having that "UFC" stamp on it makes the simps eat it up. The irony is they are doin what boxing used to do, and meanwhile, boxing is now loading up their cards and taking a page from what made UFC so successful in the first place - tonight the equivalent to UFC 100 is on with Fury v Wilder III.

UFC knows darn well what we want. How do we know? Because Zuffa did it before they sold to WME and absolutely loaded the cards. Now, when a star like Conor fights, they rely on his pulling power alone and water down the card vs what they did with UFC 189/194/205 etc. If "Bodog" was on today's event vs "UFC", 90% of the people would not have watched.
