IMO very likely a #1 contender with him against either Shavkat or Garry. Imo he stacks up quite well against either fighter and would give either JDM or Islam an interesting challenge.

JDM struggled with Bassil Hafez's takedowns and pressure while Islam would be facing someone with the takedowns and wrestling to match his. Good choice.

The rumor was Garry Brady is next but Brady is out here calling out Shavkat.
Shavkat should probably know that he's likely not getting a shot after being out for so long so I wouldn't be too surprised if he's the one fighting Brady as Brady has been calling him out lately.

Arman got skipped from the title fight in favor of a 145er and a guy who Arman already defeated. Now Ilia's next opponent is going to be Paddy or Justin.

Shavkat probably gets the same treatment especially since he doesn't have a signature win like Arman did over former champion and fan favorite Oliveira.

I really much hope that's the case and they dont give it to armen.

Shavkat never pulled out of his title fight, So he shouldn't be penalized in the same way, However islam inserting himself into the WW title picture forces shavkat to fight again.

Don't get me wrong, I want to see Shavkat soon. He deserves a title shot but its tough especially with how bad his injuries were.

Why am I feeling like Buckley?

Coming off a loss? Zero chance. It would be Usman over Buckley. Brady is on the doorstep of a title shot, he's not fighting a guy coming off a convincing loss. Most likely it's Garry, Shavkat or Usman the only other possibilities imo.
