Well lets give it the full context so we can all see exactly how dumb and petty this was. In revenge for investigating Trump for crimes he was actually found guilty of or impeached over, the trump administration launched an investigation into Hunter. After about 4 years they managed to come up with the following crime: Over a decade ago, Hunter applied for a firearm. There was a box on the application where you declared you weren't addicted to drugs. Hunter checked the box. The Feds found an ex-girlfriend who contends that Hunter was still using drugs at the time he checked that box. Hunter maintains he was sober at the time. It never went to trial, and Hunter pled out.

If you want to make a big deal out of that, go ahead. But it's a stupid deflection in a school shooting thread to act like the Biden administration is soft on gun crime and thus responsible for incidents like this. And it's all null since Biden pardoned him.

And it's worth pointing out two points of hypocrisy for trump fans: 1) pretty lame that you dismiss all of trumps accusers from years ago as impossibly unreliable, yet are willing to take with full confidence the word of an ex-girlfriend on a pretty particular point; and 2) since you guys celebrate and immediately shut down all conversation of trumps crimes on the grounds that he plans to pardon/dismiss the charges against him, it's pretty weak to throw Hunter's pardoned issues as something any of us should give a shit about given said past conduct by yourself and others who worship the orange god.

Of course we'll never know for sure but seems like a kid who felt like an outsider and then got into reading and buying into some fucked up viewpoints. There are people itt posting (this is not confirmed as from her AFAIK but seems to fit) that she claimed to contemplate suicide for awhile but decided that didn't do enough to help eradicate humans and was too boring or something like that.

Brutal that nobody could reach her to stop her from that spiral. Not sure what effort her parents made. Maybe they truly tried and couldn't get to her, but if they were that aware and still somehow allowed access to the father's gun...it's hard to fathom. When adults have completely become monsters and do shit like this, it's easier to see how they slip under the radar. They don't have guardians they live with. They can isolate themselves and be almost fully solitary and not let anyone see what they've become. A kid living at home with parents is just so much harder to believe can happen. Obviously it does and this girl is evidence. But as a parent of a girl about this age...I cannot wrap my brain around not being involved enough to not see signs your kid is coming apart. And when you do see them, fighting with all you have to bring them back from the brink.

I'm not making a big deal out of that. You've whined about it more than I have. I also never used it as a deflection from this shooting or said the Biden administration was soft on gun crime. as far as per capita, sure, but all of those countries are "third world" countries with lightly restricted (or unrestricted) access to firearms as well. you can't find me a place with a shitload of gun deaths where no one has guns. it's literally not possible.

Most gun violence is committed by people that can't legally own a gun. When they are caught with one little to nothing is done to them.
