A good scallop meal is superior, but shrimp is more versatile.

Shrimp being way more popular makes this thread a no brainer.

I love both but small edge to shrimps for variety and versatility.

A fine dish with scallops is amazing
Like a high end call girl
You’ll remember that dish for years

Shrimp are like the hottest girl at Walmart
You can eat it anywhere and enjoy it
It’s a solid choice anywhere any time

Damn this Clippy thread. Now I have a craving for shrimp.

Some big ass jumbo shrimps with lime and sriracha sounds good right now...

scallops.

anybody who eats in nice restaurants and has a refined palette would pick scallops.

fyi... Red Lobster is not in the nice restaurant category.

I'm prone to being hurt.
It doesn't have to be like that. I'll sautee some jumbo shrimp and scallops, we'll laugh about which ones are better, make each other feel good with no worries.. Then, if we feel the need, we can duel the next morning..

I'm down for an intense "scampi".

Shrimp all day

I notice most places don’t cook scallops properly and when you go to a really great restaurant they’re amazing.

Same thing goes for calamari

Scallops are a lot better 1v1, but if I could only have one of the two in existence, shrimp easily. A shrimp can never ever replace a nice seared scallop, but scallops are not good with everything like shrimp is.

I was once in the Horseshoe casino eating at Binion's Steakhouse and they had a special of the day for appetizer called Coconut Prawn and it was served with an orange mamelade. Anyway, point of the story is they bring it to me and it was the biggest shrimp I've ever seen. Served with a fork and a knife so you could eat it like a steak. I had no idea prawn got that big. Delicious.

Yeah we call prawns both the tiger prawns and the small ones (which I guess you guys call shrimp). But yeah they can get fucking big, always awesome too.

I love a variety of seafood but I've never had a seafood Paella. Now I'm thinking I need to find one. Its generally cooked in one big pot and can have different recipes but basically its a variety of shrimp, muscles, fish, lobster, etc. and its traditionally served with rice but there are variations on that as well.

Can’t beat a good paella, I’m off to Madrid in a couple of weeks and you can be damn sure I’ll be getting in on some of that...
