Let me put it another way, say you’re walking in some bad part of town, all alone, and a strange man approaches you with a gun in his hand, and tells you to get on your knees and blow him. Now you could just do what he says to avoid getting shot, or you can take your chances and tell him to fuck off. Now he certainly might shoot you, and you might die or at least be wounded, but he also might not. What do you do?

Personally, I’ll take my chances with the gun, even though it seems like the potentially more harmful if not fatal option. Same if I was a child in the system, and the option is to be adopted by two gay men, or stay in the system in hopes that someone else might adopt me someday down the road, while knowing it may never happen, I’ll still take my chances.
