Media Sam Alvey just KO'd Tyrone Spong in Karate Combat

Sam is more GOAT than Artem, and that's saying something.

come on bro...you serious? lmao. the guy nearly lost 10 in a row. He would get decimated.
Tai Tuivasa is ranked number 10 in the UFC with 5 straight losses...

I was only playing around initially but the more I look at it, he could be ranked in the division trading wins and losses.

It's crazy that people are in here calling fixed fight knowing Spong's brutal injury history and massive inactivity rust. This isn't 2013, time to wake up. His one fight in the last 11 years was a TKO loss as well. Alvey has the UFC loss streak, yes, but he has remained healthy and active in combat sports and before his loss streak he was on a 7-2 run in the big leagues.
I didn't say the fight was fixed for sure. I said the circumstances of the fight didn't seem normal and that under normal circumstances Spong wins. So yeah, probably the fight looked strange because of the reason you mention (Spong injuries and ring rust). I'm not trying to argue with none of you people.

I've played that game before

Vitor didn't look weird to you butt flopping all fight never using his blitz? Randleman gently rolling along with him on the ground? Shamrock going down like a pro wrestler against pillow fisted Sak? Mirko was taking it easy on him the whole fight, then one punch he threw too hard on the ground and Sakuraba's face was destroyed and fight was over. The Russian guy who was about to beat him untill the officials pulled some BS that saved Saku? The BS surrounding Mezger.

Before you ask for proof, Rampage already admitted he was approached backstage for a fix against Saku and he's one of the biggest Pride FC defenders in the world.

I'm sorry I ruined the perception and you never look at him the same way again but I had to do it.

You didn’t ruin my perception of anything. If I remember correctly Vitor said he broke his hand early in the Saku fight and just survived to the bell afterwards. Randleman has always had poor submission defence so it’s no surprise Saku was able to sub him. Shamrock fight was pretty short he ate a good punch and collapsed against the ropes which made the ref jump in maybe prematurely. If Mirko was taking it easy on him it’s because he was a heavyweight and Saku wasn’t and he was trying to be sporting. If you mean the Smirnovas fight that was a pretty epic comeback by Saku he also pulled the same kind of win over Zelg Galesic which was awesome though I will admit the refs prolly let Saku take extra punishment because of his warrior spirit. Mezger bs was Ken Shamrocks fault he’s the one who refused the overtime period. Rampage has told various stories over the years about the Saku fight I wouldn’t believe any of them because he keeps changing his story.

Not a prime Tyrone Spong, under any ruleset

Tyrone Spong has 0 chance in MMA against Sam at any point of their careers. Sam would win in any combat sport with smaller gloves. And even in pillow gloves sports he has a chance to clip Spong who always had a below average chin.

This is why Dana kept Sam for so long

The kid has potential - imagine him fighting 50 lbs heavier

He coulda been a contender

That means hes not a top ten fighter, even by the UFC's rankings which are slow are slow to punish inactivity. Inactive fighters are naturally able to protect their rank because they're not losing anymore. If Tai did fight he wouldn't be ranked that high. (I hope I dont have to explain why)

And Tai beat SIGNIFICANTLY better fighters than Sam has.

Like you're talking about a hypothetical for something that happened. You think some dude who was literally a bottom of the barrel fighter at 185 is going to be a good HW? I'm not talking mid level guy or a guy that ran into some bumps cutting weight, he was as bad as you could be at MW without getting cut.

Whilst I don't agree with the rankings, the fact is Tai is top 10. A 3 fight streak in HW from anyone gets you ranked now. That's how thin the division is.

Tai's best win is Arlovski and Lewis at the ends of their careers. Sams is Spong at the end of his in striking.

I think he would be stupid to leave Karate Combat because they seem willing to bring in big fighters for him to fight against. HW has about 20 active fighters in the UFC. It's the most wide open division in the sport outside of the top 3-5 guys. No reason a guy like Sam couldn't put together a run there. Anyone around the 185-205 mark could with a little grappling.
