Damn 17 months? Feels like yesterday he fought Khamzat, he has a great legacy and could retire but I’m sure a legend like Kamaru would like to go out on a win. I’m sure there’s fun fights for him, I wouldn’t mind a Kamaru/Garry fight for Kamaru to get back on track and or retire on a win.

There's opportunities for Usman to make more money not fighting. He needs to take a page from Ngannou's book and go start exploring business in Africa. He can start his own feeder league to the UFC or PFL.

I think usman vs chandler, although pointless would be a good fight for him. maybe a fight against olives/poreier/gaethje or strickland. I agree with you I don't see him fighting again a legit ww unless he slips into a title shot or interim matchup.

You know I never even thought about it but he likely had inside knowledge that Shavkat was injured (Shavkat's got pretty tight connections to Karmaru's former camp) and he musta just been hoping and praying that he coulda skipped that line and got in there. He's already dabbling in that. I don't remember the name but there's a regional promotion in Nigeria that he's heavily invested in.

Yeah he was called snoozeman for a reason. Had an entertaining titlerun. Overhyped though compared to GSP, who many felt would get wrecked by Usman.

Usman probably has a contract that prevents him from plying his trade in another forum. The smart thing to do is fight out the contract with easy fights to maximize his value on the freakshow market. With any luck he’ll be getting knocked out by Jake Paul for his biggest payday ever.

Just last month Kamaru was talking about having "injuries". He didn't elaborate as to what those injuries are, but I do think he has reached a point, in life, where these injuries aren't going to disappear. So he either decides to fight while not at his best or he retires.

He wasnt all that inactive that year, Chimaev is inactive and he has already fought since that fight, if Usman thinks he can slide into another high profile fight he is delusional at this point, going down the Cejudo route, lost to the elite at BW on his return, now lost to a guy with more loses than him off an eye poke.
