If he wasn't in that movie playing that character, we wouldn't be talking about that movie at all..

Yea I say that because the theme of Blade Runner is interesting but the movie itself is kind of boring. Rutger steals the show and elevates the movie as a whole
I totally agree, outside the boring lol. I loved everything about Blade Runner, watched it so many times as a kid. Having Han Solo drew me in initially, and the visuals got my attention, but Hauer was the one who gave it that extra gravitas it needed, and making it so memorable. He was so bizarre, made the replicants feel otherworldly and their danger legit, ultimately making the world into something believable. It wouldn't have had the same lasting impact without him.

He's probably the reason I got into Philip K. Dick and eventually William Gibson and Walter Jon Williams, name the Hardwired novels for the latter (influence of Cyberpunk table top). It all came full circle with Cyberpunk 2077.

Any of you play Observer? I think it was Rutger's last official performance. What a swan Song.

Amazing. One of my favorite actors growing up. If you like that performance go watch him in The Hitcher. It's a horribly overlooked Hitchcockian thriller from the 80s. He's also great in Verhoeven's Turkish Delight and Olmi's The Legend Of The Holy Drinker. Plus you have goofy fun ones like Blind Fury and Wedlock. Remember Wedlock? What a blast.

GOAT movie asking some profound questions and has amazing symbolism. The post apocalyptic cyberpunk setting that all others will be judged by.

I was very pleased how good the sequel was, and how it managed to ask OTHER profound questions than just repeating the ones here.
