And that's not even to say skin tone is COMPLETELY irrelevant. Sure...people on some visceral level might feel more a kinship with people who look like them.

But especially when you start talking about kids, humans absolutely do not want to see them suffer regardless of pigmentation.

Remember the "Feed the children" ads (if you guys are old enough) from way back. And then all the spinoff type charities? Some of them were absolutely scams (and some were legit), but trust me white Americans were very bothered seeing those Ethiopian kids living in poverty with the distended bellies. I didn't grow up rich at all, but my mom the white and relatively conservative midwestern housewife still sent her $10/month and still cried when she saw those kids on TV. And not just her. If white Americans didn't care, they wouldn't have spammed TV with ads for those charities showing those dark skinned kids.

Guys... There are tons of what we would consider nazis and far right movements all over eastern Europe and in Russia. I have many family members from there, people all over the region can be incredibly racist and backwards. They say shit casually that would cause riots over here. Ukraine, like Russia, is rediciously corrupt, impoverished, and has been a long time haven for organized crime. Its been undergoing some reforms in recent years but still many elements of authoritarianism exist. It's not the woke feminist multicultural utopia leftists want places to be...

But literally none of this excuses what Russia is doing right now. Not in the slightest. It's completely irrelevant in fact.

The innocents in Ukraine are the important thing to me. So just take the deal imo.

Don't make it illegal for innocents to get away from war zones and don't force them to be human shields or fighters.

And I'd be far more pro Ukraine
What has occurred in the donbas region is definitely relevant to me.
