I thing the chance of Russia using nukes is just about 0 unless actual Russian territory, i.e. not Crimea or Belarus, but if Russia itself is attacked, it's the one excuse that might do it; otherwise, a bully like Putin will back down when push comes to shove.

It's not like they can never exercise the option of simply calling it a day and withdrawing, which would presumably also end sanctions and so on. If he's got half the savvy of p. Trump he might even be able to pull off a "Look, see? I fixed the issue" message that the masses might be able to swallow if they have plenty of vodka, now affordable thanks to a suddenly improved economic situation.

Russia has to be stopped here and now to show them their nuclear blackmail is no longer going to work and any attempt to make good on it will result in everything from Moscow to Leningrad being turned to glass.

Besides, if you get your country turned into a nuclear wasteland, how are you going to hold fear of attack from the West over your people's heads as a yoke to keep you in power? Not gonna happen.

Oh, I suppose that's possible, depending upon how good a job we can do transitioning from sanctions over the war to negotiated easing of sanctions in exchange for nuclear disarmament of similar heavy concessions from Russia. Some sort of combined Iran/Russia nuke deal strikes me as interesting being as how they appear to have consummated some kind of unholy union.

On the other hand, removing them pretty near instantly as a show of good will toward the people of Russia (as opposed to its leadership), followed by cutting them out of international markets wherever possible anyway, would possibly work better in the long run to assuage the perception of average Russians that "the West" is out to get them.

I wouldn’t but I would understand if people from other countries not wanting people from my country getting exterminated by nukes whatever if they feel somewhat responsible for it or not. I would also understand people of other countries not wanting to get dragged into a war or worse, a nuclear war, which would end the world.

But they want their people to be exterminated via genocide? cool.

Also no matter what the US involvement is in Ukraine everyone will get dragged to a nuclear war, China, UK, France every nuclear power will intervene if nukes are thrown because they don't want a precedent where another nuclear power can simply exert their own power via nukes.

It’s easy not to fear for the Ukrainians when you’re not Ukrainian in Ukraine. I just don’t want US intervention to be part of the catalyst of a Ukrainian city being nuked. I also don’t want that to happen period. Hopefully Ukraine can win this war with no Nukes being detonated.

Damn, Russia has lost 23 KA 52 helicopters in Ukraine, thats 25% of all their Ka52s..

They cant even use the KA-52 properly. It's technically suppose to be used for Spec-ops/ scout helicopter hunting if i recall.

I mean tb 2 were being shot down in summer when rus got anti-air going for a while and they are fairly "new" so its doable.
