If you watch the full testimony from Natalia Usmanova - not the clipped up version that cut out these parts shown in western media - she states just that:

She went to the plant on her own accord. According to her the military members wouldn’t let her leave for her own safety. She is now alive and well and out of Mauripol. She wasn’t used as a “meat shield” she wasn’t tied up and bound as a prisoner or hostage. At that point the soldiers had to worry about the majority and not about one or two civilians thinking they know better than the soldiers on how to get out alive. And out of thousands of civilians in the plant, you can only find one that says she couldn’t leave the plant whenever dude wanted? SMH.

oh and BTW she never claims she was held hostage.

Rouble reverses rally as Russia eases capital controls

AAXmHIu.img

"(Reuters) - The Russian rouble weakened on Tuesday, stepping away from near five-year highs against the euro, after the central bank eased some capital controls that were the main driver of its strength in the past few weeks.

At 0741 GMT, the rouble was 0.7% weaker at 63.89 against the dollar, moving away from the 62.6250 level reached on Friday, its strongest since early February 2020.

Against the euro, the rouble fell 1.1% to 66.50, hovering near its strongest level since mid-2017 of 64.9425 that it touched last week.

But the latest move from the central bank can be seen as an indication that the recent phase of the rouble rally could be over soon, BCS Brokerage said.

On the stock market, the dollar-denominated RTS index shed 0.2% to 1,171.6 points, while the rouble-based MOEX Russian index added 0.5% to 2,377.6 points.

Promsvyazbnk analysts said the MOEX index may climb above 2,400 during the day."

Whoa! Either this guy has a spiked beverage in his future or is a strong contender for next president once the Russians come to their senses and realize that they're being defeated.

Shit's gettin' real. If their nukes work as well as their military maybe they will turn themselves into a collector's plate before anyone gets hurt by them. But I don't think they will ever use them to begin with because if they did, I think that would spell the end of Mother Russia in any event.

the one thing they have that works and has a good readiness level is a their missile force. Its more ready then ours for most part, just look at the minuteman 3 replacement program. Its a god damn mess.

from what I gather it seems like a prisoner swap was setup before they actually surrendered. Time will tell if Russia actually follows through with the swap. Regardless I’m glad it’s over for them, they will go down in history as complete badasses. Zelensky said “hero’s need to be alive” so here’s to hoping most of them make it.

Azov is not being swapped, they are actually to be considered war criminals to rus.Marines cops border guards etc might though

there are a few foreigners that are fucked, so I’m not sure everything that is happening around that situation. Definitely need to keep an eye on it.
The Russians are still claiming to have NATO generals with no proof...But the regular Brits will probably be executed.

um...

correct me if im wrong, but your not exactly suppose to show this footage from Air defense assets...

It worked? LOL. Why are there countless videos of Russians getting their shit pushed in around the plant for two months straight? Why are there countless videos of it being bombed and white phosphorus being used on the plant? You do know that is a war crime to use where civilians are located right? If the plan was to starve them out why in the fuck would they drop white phosphorus on the plant multiple times? Someone has been drinking the Kremlin koolaid too long.
Isn't it a war crime for soldiers to hide where civilians are for the sake of not allowing the opposing military to attack?

"Bombardment - A continuous attack with shot and shell upon a town, fort, or other position; the act of throwing shot and shell into an enemy's town in order to destroy the buildings."

The plant and tunnels would had been completely destroyed had it been under constant bombardment for a few months. The game plan explicitly stated was to not go on the offensive at the steel plant, to sit back and starve them out, and it worked.

Outside of a few shots at the plant to deal with the Azovites popping up to shoot at them, they weren't really aggressively attacking the plant.

I think every report I have read has included the term 'constant bombardment'.

I'm just wondering what sources you're using that say different?

I know what 'bombardment' means, lol

No idea what point you are trying to make. The civilians chose to go there themselves for protection. The soldiers also weren't staying in the plant to "not allow Russia to attack them" Considering this didn't happen. The plant and tunnels were most likely prepped for YEARS with everyone who knew it existed knew it was going to be used by the military when/if the time came.
