Top Russian Generals Arrested, Investigated for 'Abuse of Power'

AAZgunB.img

"Lieutenant-General Sergei Umnov, the assistant to the head of Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, was detained alongside Major General Alexei Semyonov, head of St. Petersburg's traffic police, and Major General Ivan Abakumov, as the country's invasion of Ukraine rages on.

Between 2016 and 2020, the three top Russian generals allegedly misappropriated funds from the Program Assistance Fund for the St. Petersburg and Leningrad region's Main Department of Internal Affairs, and purchased property "for personal use," Russian newspaper Kommersant reported.

According to the state-run paper, at the request of the generals, money from the fund was spent on the purchase of real estate and cars, as well as the maintenance of freelance assistants."

Hey, those mega-yachts in Cyprus weren't going to buy themselves! They HAD to siphon funds!
"Freelance assistant" <{ohyeah}>

The stuff is that mando service can't automatically increase equipment etc + pro and national guard etc services too should be kept + with all expenses on purchases of course...
If there quickly mando conscripts will be added...
Then with 2,3-2,5 % from GDP will not be enough....

+ Imho to get more random lads isn't like to get more SAM stuff or MRLS or even mortars....

From the little i understand (i'm absolutely not an expert) boost numbers with random guys may be useful to do relatively "easier" stuff so you can use the true expert soldiers where actually you need them, and you have a reserve bit more trained compared to just give a rifle to the bakery guy and tell him you're a soldier now... or better, it's exactly what you do, but bakery guy at least got 1 year of training
Plus Lituania have very small population, number of actual professional soldier probably guess is'nt that big

If Lituania get attacked no way west does'nt enter the conflict
They're NATO + They're EU + if russians manage to conquer a stripe of land that link Belarus with the small piece of Russia (one at south-west of Lituania) they would isolate Lituania, Latvia and Estonia from the rest of Europe and would be bad for 99 other reasons

So i guess idea behind mandatory service is that tech toys and special troops will be given for free by the western allies, but -if needed- the big number of footsoldiers thing will still be up to the locals

On "bright" side i really doubt atm current Russia is able to open another, even more complex front while they're still struggling to get out of Ukraine (as long Putin is king, they can't leave if they don't win something that justify what they lost in this war) and tbh that situation i doubt is going to end soon, specially considering that russian army on ukranian soil even conquering nothing definitive still prevent the west to do some steps to incorporate Ukraine, keeping it to some extent the buffer zone (an heavy price one) russians want between themselves and NATO

So if Russia is busy in Ukraine, maybe Lituania is simply thinking not much about today, but just further aknowledge that if in future shit hit the fan, they would be one of the logical first targets
And if shit reach the point Russia is ok to attack a NATO nation it mean it's a very large scale shit (WW3) and in such scenario is possible other allies are busy themselves and can't help till the day they win shit at their home

That's my 2cents, but again i have zero military knowledge

Russia has been making some small advances but nowhere near the speed they need to. Ukraine is making them pay for every inch. Now the HIMARS, and French GPS guided artillery is hitting the Russian supply lines around 35 miles behind the front.

They've acheived all their goals except for part of Donetsk what are you talking about? It's been 4 months if they take the Donbass plus the land bridge in 5 or 6 months, that's a pretty solid performance. Ukraine never had a chance but it is the strongest country a great power has fought in 70 years it was going to take a little time.

So are you saying you see this whole thing ending in about 1-2 months?

I can see Russia completing their main goals in that time. How much longer than that could it take? They don't have much more to do. In terms of the Ukranians coming to terms with their loss of territory and the war formally ending that's far less predictable. I think the Russians are going to have to move on Kharkov(not in the Donbass but close by) or something to get the Ukranians to seriously consider settlement.

Both sides will require a " victory " before any talks are had.

I can see Russia claiming victory with donbas. Maybe Ukraine will have some wins in the North and go to the negotiations with that. But highly unlikely imo.

Seems they're more than willing to do a forever war.

They does know that " exercise to break Suvalk corridor is routine for Belarus and Russia to train for ...on yearly basis since 2008 th..."
+ it isn't like they aren't buying anything.
Even had purchased some SAM batteries and self propelled guns& mortars etc...
While if compare f.e with Belarus, their military is small ....+ additional new stuff isn't so easy to get quickly: demand for weapons increased in a lot of countries.
So today...yeah, they need some western stuff stationed...

They already does have some...should be more ...

Can someone sum up what's happening? Russia is being a POS but at the same time Ukraine and the Bidens did some shady/bribery/criminal shenanigans so this whole "support Ukraine till the end" bs isn't what it seems?

That will be news to Ukrainian servicemen they see progress in Donbas and see them retaking Donetsk and Luhansk. But rail on about the information out of Russia and this is wrong because it isn't. Russia throwing more and more resources into a smaller and smaller area not a good long term sign.

Settlement with Russia?
We aren't stupid not to get that russia's target is to deUkrainize and submit all Ukraine sooner or later.
Any negotiatons with Russia will be useless...
Only idots and Russia's dick s*** ers are insisting on such long term scenario.

They need control countries.
Via puppet or ....by annexion...occupation.

In Ukraine they will do ....rusification and deUkrainization.
+ ofc next will be Moldova...as had been promised....
Georgia for sure too is scheduled ....just today puppet is enough good for them, therefore today they yet didn't had started deNazification in Georgia.
Later IMHO anyway will do...

Maybe better travel to Donbas and apply to work for Russia in Donbas...
You love Russia so much, should help them to do deNazification.
Maybe Wagner will accept you.
If no, People's republic of Lugansk or People's republic of Donbas. might accept you....

R.I.P. to that lady who fought for her country against the invaders.

She's Brazilian mate. But still rip to her.
