I don't believe Russia ever said their intention was to take over all of Ukraine or did I miss that part? Or is our media lying as usual?

Probably be a they’re attempting to take the capitol city and being pushed back. I would say trying to take Kiev indicates they were there to do more than “liberate” Donbas

I agree, he has no credibility at all. He accuses the "Kiev regime" - Zelensky's government -of genocide, and says the operation is to demilitarise Ukraine, but apparently that was going to be achieved without using any force. It's not going to go down as one of the all time great speeches in history; but I think the media was pretty fair to understand this as an intention to conquer the whole country.

Mate, Donetsk is a capital of DONETSK Peoples Republic. Since 2014 it's not a part of Ukraine.

Anything our media (or anyone else for that matter) says about him switching strategies isn't going to be based on his words. Seems like a little misunderstanding here. Donetsk and Lukhansk REGIONS were contested during 2014-2022 events, not Donetsk and Luhansk cities itself. Both cities were firmly in separatists hand since the beginning.

What sane Person thinks that any Military is comparable to the US? Not only does the US have the biggest Military budget by far, they have also constantly been at war and Thus have the biggest experience. Although none of their wars were comparable to Russia vs Ukraine + the whole West as a proxy, in a conventional war any Country on their own would lose to the US.
