Russia/Ukraine Megathread V5

I think he (Putin) already has. Everything is going to Ukraine. China would still have to deal with Russian ICBMs.
The guy is bringing help from Syria and hiring mercenaries. Our 1:10 ratio of Ukranian dead to Russian dead may be going up to 1:20. WWII ratio. Putin will draft and send every able body Russian male between the ages of 18 to 55 to fight in the Ukraine if he has to.
Ukraine will eventually run out of bodies to fight this war. Just like Nazy Germany in WWII.
I think Zelensky should re-think his long term strategy. He may just wipe out 75% of the male population in Ukraine.

thats gonna be a costly war. but hopefully those ukranian tractors can pull their weight. they're worth more than the average russian soldier.

How long before Russia (Putin) resorts to chemical weapons and a 1 kiloton nuclear warhead?
Russian forces can fire small nuclear warheads using conventional artillery, such as the 'Malka' self-propelled gun.

I fear a tact nuke on Mauripol is imminent. Poots will hope this will shock and awe Ukraine into submission. It will have the opposite effect sadly and will just escalate things to extreme levels.

"
Russia’s false accusation that Ukraine has biological and chemical weapons is a “clear sign” that a desperate Vladimir Putin is considering using them himself, Joe Biden has said.

The US president said Putin’s “back is against the wall and now he’s talking about new false flags he’s setting up including, asserting that we in America have biological as well as chemical weapons in Europe – simply not true. I guarantee you,” Biden said at an event on Monday.
“They are also suggesting that Ukraine has biological and chemical weapons in Ukraine. That’s a clear sign he’s considering using both of those. He’s already used chemical weapons in the past, and we should be careful of what’s about to come.”

Putin “knows there’ll be severe consequences because of the united Nato front,” he said, without specifying what actions the alliance would take."

Not the news story I dreamed of waking up to. Russia using biological or chemical weapon would be awful in itself and would risk forcing Biden into doing more and more... eventually risking actual war.

Unfortunately, it makes a twisted kind of sense that Putin would consider it: Russian casualty figures seem high and taking city centres is very, very difficult unless you have a large manpower advantage (US experts even say 10 to 1). Russia doesn't have that advantage and their edge in firepower and tech won't help much in urban combat.

Dangerous times.

Ukraine will lose this conflict. Period!
It cannot sustain a 6 month to a 1 year war. Russia can.
The only short term solution that I see (again) is to take Putin out. One man in Russia is holding things up.
Let's see now. Who is really good at taking folks out in secrecy and denying it ever happened? The Israeli Mossad.
Watch! Isarel is getting ready to take out a major nuclear facility in Iran. Just like they did in Iraq and Syria.
What did the Arab world do? Nothing.
Same Israelis that deny having a nuclear weapon but have a stocked nuclear arsenal.

Nothing to see here. Just an editorial in the "paper of record" about how a nuclear war wouldn't be so bad.

Did you read the article? It's actually pretty good and informative. Nothing about it says that it "wouldn't be so bad". Quite the opposite, it's very ominous. It explains how it's a realistic scenario, since you don't need to wipe a country off the map to start a nuclear attack with these smaller warheads, so some nut like Putin might be more inclined to use them as a show of force.

You can read the whole thing without paywall here:

Well to be honest I do speak English with foreigners. I'm sure Russian is a principal language in that area the same way.

Non-russian foreigners who come here and speak Russian with us, becase they assume that's what we do here, should burn in hell.

I don't mind Russians who come here from actual Russia, i'll gladly respond in Russian and be nice, but I'm not bending the knee for someone who has lived here for decades and can't even say please and thank you, mostly not because they don't know how, but out of stubborness.

With local Russians I always speak latvian, and often they respond in Russian. We understand eachother, don't hurt eachothers pride, and all is well.

My dad and my wife showed respect to this country and learned the language. With examples like this in my life, it's hard for me to accept others not doing it.

You really think Russia's going to do the one thing ( well two ) chemical and nuclear that would unite and justify the rest of the world fighting Russia? Really?

They have more than enough explosives to do equal damage without resorting to those actions..

I'd be highly surprised. And honestly like the chemical attacks in Syria highly suspicious.

They just happened to do the one thing that justified the West's involvement in Syria. From a strategic stand point it's basically military suicide. So I'm doubtful

Can any of the russian speakers here explain to us the alleged beef between Kadirov and Shoigu???

Never heard about it. What’s the source of that rumour?

He has said before if he is shown to have posted fake or false information he would self ban from these threads. I doubt would live up to it though. I posted an article with evidence of Russian involvement in the Donbass region. He refused to acknowledge it.

I have only one thing to add to my previous statements, so we can finally finish with the “Donbas period ark”: Russia was punished with sanctions for bloodless Crimea annexation. Meanwhile, “our Donbas involvement” came out with zero repercussions. Why? Because UN Security Council had exactly zero solid evidences that Russia used its actual active Armed Forces units there, inside the Ukrainian border. You can also check how many POWs were exchange between LPR/DPR and Ukraine in the course of those 8 years. There are no actual active Russian Armed Forces guys among them, even if Ukraine claimed otherwise. Ukrainian ministry of defense could easily prove their point by showing any Russian Armed Forces active servicemen to UN, but they didn’t.
In no way I ever denied that Russia helped Donbas people with volunteers, “volunteers”, equipment and armaments from the “deep mines of Moria” :D.
Are we clear about my position on the topic or it’ll need additional explanation? I had the exact same discussion on “neo-nazi ark” with comrade @SanchoMF , and it seems there is a similar misunderstanding on my views here.
