International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

Did you not notice that I wrote CIA-agent before Stasi-agent?
And nobody called me a CIA-agent, and I didn't call anyone a CIA-agent, either.

I could have just as easily wrote FSB-agent or whatever, since the point was that I tried not to engage in name calling or being rude for no reason.

Because I care about the facts of the situation, I don't like being told a simplistic and false background to the conflict when I know, from following the conflict for years, that there is more to it than we're being told by the mainstream media and our politicians in Western Europe and USA.
Do you happen to have any of your sources to share?

Say maybe a Youtube video from an American Professor specializing in geopolitics..

*looks down at bingo card and mutters* "I'm getting that fuckin' hamper"

and yet your account is 2023 and there's zero evidence of you ever making any predictions about this war.....unless of course you want to admit this is your alt and tell us your prior account...in which case it's a lose/lose proposition...

Just like I can tell you last week's lottery numbers...
I didn't write anything about the conflict on sherdog before last week.

I did do a paper on it when I studied in 2013-2015ish.

There's a whole world out there in real life, outside sherdog.

I wasn't even much of an MMA-fan before 2020, during covid I stopped watching football and started to watch most UFC-events.

Why would I waste anymore time on this, since any source that disagrees with your take will be called a Russian propagandist?

I did put in a quote from honest and peace-loving, John McCains speech in Kiev.

Perhaps you could take a step out of your comfort zone and try to research the situation for yourself?

I spent a lot of time researching this conflict back in 2014, then on/off during and after the invasion 2022.

My prediction in 2014, that this would be a long conflict, due to eastern Ukraine (including Crimea) being very strategically important for Russia, and also very important for Ukraine/NATO, proved to be correct.

I also knew that most of Eastern Ukraine were more loyal to Russia than EU/NATO, which would be a problem for a new puppet regime.

It was also very obvious that USA was deeply involved, you had war mongerer number one John McCain holding speeches during the protests, for God's sake.

And you had Victoria Nuland bragging about USA spending $5 billion to promote "democracy" in Ukraine.

Senator John McCain on Sunday told thousands of Ukrainian protesters camped on Kiev's main square that Ukraine's destiny lay in Europe and that it would make Europe better.

"Ukraine will make Europe better and Europe will make Ukraine better," he said to crowds protesting against President Viktor Yanukovich's U-turn in trade policy away from Europe towards Russia.

"We are here to support your just cause, the sovereign right of Ukraine to determine its own destiny freely and independently. And the destiny you seek lies in Europe," said McCain, a leading Republican voice on US foreign policy."

Just picture the scene if a Russian politician held a speech like that in Canada or Mexico during riots, and how your government would react.

I listened to more than one source, and cross-checked what all agreed on, and what people disagreed on, and what kind of news each side highlighted, and saw a very incomplete/dishonest picture of the conflict through the Swedish media.

I read and listened to journalists and politicians from all sides (NATO/Ukraine/Russia/Sweden, etc.)
I've been following this since the Orange Revolution. If you're really as astute as you claim you'd realize that there were multiple free elections after the Maidan Revolution. Zelensky is supposedly a puppet but he came into power during the Trump administration and declined to report a government investigation into Biden when pressed by him. Literally impeachment level stuff. Now that Trump is back in office it sure looks like he's more interested in strong arming Ukraine for his own grab at their natural resources rather than supporting his supposed puppet against Putin's aggression.

You are making unverified claims. Surely you don't think everyone is a gullible idiot?

Yes we're all aware there's a world out there outside of the internet/sherdog.

If you are going to make a claim like "I predicted this was going to be..." then you'll have to provide proof of that otherwise you're talking out of your ass.

Maybe if you posted a youtube video about why Ukraine is the wests fault by an American political scientist and international relations scholar I would.

Never know...

Disregard it if you want, then.
I have no reason to lie, especially not in an anonymous online argument.

You sound like a MAGA cultist that claims they've been noticing main stream media deceit for years as they spend their time watching Fox News and following conservative commentators. Congratulations, Russia has implanted a worm in your brain, but don't fret it might get you a cabinet position some day just like it did Kennedy Jr... <goldie>

Again, we're back to name calling.

I'm tapping out now (stop replying), since it's obviously a waste of time in this moment.

Maybe some time in the distant future you will come to some of the same realizations, depending on how the conflict ends/escalates.

Hehe, if I can get a cabinet position, perhaps you could replace John McCain as a senator 😅.

McCain is a hero of mine, not only for his service to this country, but for championing boxer rights. I was more lightheartedly ribbing you than insulting you so don't blame me for running off. I'm pretty open to opposing views and consider myself rational so it's up to you to be more convincing. It's like I said, about you just regurgitating what's already been said, nobody that's an independent thinker is buying that bullshit. {<shrug}

Imagine thinking countries that border Russia don't have any rights...
I think it's usually just an argument or election about who's going to fuck you rather than having or not having rights.

No, he pretty clearly states that he still believes in outdated geopolitical theories.

Hitler had geopolitical theory that Austria is Germany's property because their writing is the same as in germany.
