I used to know someone like that. He was married to a Russian woman and espoused the craziest pro Russian views.

Eh national bias around the world is strong and really weak below appropriate levels in USA. I have ran into Russians in different countries generally they always love Russia and I would say half will say they don't like Putin. The last encounter in Thailand the guy told me him and his wife loves their land (Russia) but hate Putin. They love Trump and hope to visit USA one day. It was a quick convo at a bar but interesting.

Concerning developments the last 72 hours, but it seems that most of it still is dismounted infantry.

Last November I predicted that Donetsk wouldn't be conquered in its entirety until June or July. We are in mid-August. So... all things considered, this offense is still going really poorly.

However. I would be surprised if Pokrovsk is still in UA hands by September 1st.

That's why i'm not sure the purpose of the Putin-Trump meeting . Putler has been making gains so he will have no reason to stop war and will just keep printing money and hiring meat. Hopefully Putin pisses off Pump and the U.S. will put even more crippling sanctions on because that's the only way to stop Putler.

I think real talks under the table will be about africa...

Africa is in field of interests for a lot of countries and corporations because does have a lot of different resources etc....
Now during last years tension is increasing and also looks that resources are more than had been calculated some years earlier.

Main value in Pokrovsk area isn't pokrovsk but some areas near Pokrovsk where coal mines etc are located. Putin definitely wants to control these coal etc mines.

In 2015 th Orban had defined why ukraine can't be EU or NATO member.

Btw recent claims about ukrainian administration told by Orban are very painful for Ukraine.
He does wants European Comission to check human rights situation in Ukraine.
& accusations now are super painful: it is suspected that ukraine doesn't do enough in order to help refugees relocating from areas near frontline ...as citizens they are entitled for asistance to get opportunity to have some room where to live.
Ukrainian government is excpeting that at first refugees maybe will find where to live by renting from private landlords.
Ukrainian landlords are very brutal and rising rent prices etc, however government doesn't care enough about situation and ukraine does have increasing number of homeless ppl.

Additionally this does create problems with getting jobs and get banks services because then you need to provide your current address.

Ukrainian authorities in multiple cases had demanded to pay mortgage tax for mortgage now located in occupied areas and in some cases even for mortgage turned into dust and rubble with mesh.
While this is against ykr laws: they can't demand mortgage tax payments from owner IF owner doesn't have access to this property and can't use property.....

Some had told that both russia and ukr does have approx 89 000 deserteurs.

Just listened to Trump newest press conf and he talks about Ukraine being all sorrounded by "ocean" lol. It's funny but also revealing, because he is in other words talking about the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions occupied by Russia getting back to Ukraine. The famous "Kellog plan" as they call it in Russia. He says "there will be land swapping" and "the most precious property is the property near a lake, sea or ocean". Meaning give up Kramatorsk and Slavyansk for taking back strategically important Berdyansk and Melitopol. This is a great plan for Ukraine and this time I hope they are smart and don't yell lol because there's high probability Russia doesn't agree to that to begin with.

The problem with the kellog plan is that it places a burden on Ukraine saying supplies are contingent on Ukraine entering peace talks. Why is the pressure on Ukraine? They are being invaded and have made far more efforts at peace talks than Russia. It's also an America first policy. USA interest is to just put an end to the war, not the outcome of Ukraine and Russia. I don't recall the kellog plan being specific on land and borders so that's where trump has leverage to work within. And trump is clearly warm to Russian plans for Ukraine losing as much territory as possible. So its a shit sandwich for Ukraine. Their biggest and strongest ally doesn't share their vision of what an end to the war looks like.

I love Ukr but they are a bit cocky and not entirely safe for future of West and Europe so I can completely understand using pressure on them as much as we hate it due to their heroic efforts for over a decade. Trump for example had portrayed as outcome of trade talks with EU about possible xxx b€ private investments ....despite EU doesn't have communism and can't order private investors to invest their money somewhere.
Maybe might be 4 b or even 4000 b it depends from private investors will not gubbermint orders.


Next step: Trump had reffered as possible outcome part of potential weapons sales deals like his personal achievements and had used 2021-2024 th signed contracts calculated ammounts plus predicted next possible maybe sales deals.

While these contracts mainly aren't direct contracts with some kind of communism empire but with individual countries without centralized financing done by E.U.
I dunno how long term Trump might continue to lie in 24/7/365 mode about legal aspects of weapons sales deals? Till death most likely....
