International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V15

After it was attacked by Russia in 2014, Ukraine increasingly sought NATO membership. Ukraine joined NATO's Partnership for Peace in 1994 and the NATO-Ukraine Commission in 1997, then agreed to the NATO-Ukraine Action Plan in 2002 and entered into NATO's Intensified Dialogue program in 2005.
I see Sans Democracy is still here.

The Budapest agreement should've been it. Russia reneging, NATO not doing their part, and you being who you are is to be expected in this fucked up world.

Why trust anyone if they're just going to back out? You as a russie should know better than anyone whats going on in Syria.

For the 1 millionth time, if Ukraine had ever actually gotten into NATO -which they couldn’t- then Russia could not have invaded them and there would be no war, you giant idiot
Yes. Your point being?
When did I say it otherwise you idiot?

My point being, you giant human bedbug, that the thing (which didn't happen) you are blaming for this war would have actually prevented it lmao
Is it just me or is there an abundance of stupid people writing in this thread?
Damn son, apples and oranges. Yes, had Ukraine been part of NATO, Russia would most likely not have invaded.
The fact that Ukraine was pushing for NATO membership is why Russia invaded.
For the 100th time, recall the Cuban missile crisis? The US was threatening Cuba and the USSR after having US missiles placed in Turkey and Italy. The US provoked that crisis.

I'm confident you're lying about being an officer due to your lack of basic knowledge in modern warfare. Would you like another example?
Yes. Please give me 5 good examples.
. Why do you continue to think that you know so much more than me?
. Yes, I have made mistakes in the past and so have you.
. This is not a thread about yours and mine military knowledge and experience, but you always seem to shift the focus in that direction without being carded.
This is incredibly stupid and I refuse to believe an infantry officer would advocate for such a thing. Dropping any number of troops, from any altitude, behind a 350+ mile russian front with instructions to live off the land, shows a complete lack of understanding of the battlefield conditions in Ukraine.
What exactly do you know about operations behind enemy lines?
So, you are saying this concept is impossible and would never work. This through your vast knowledge and experience as an NCO enlisted for a few years in the Corps. You don't seem to understand some of the things I am saying or taking them completely out of context. The insults don't help your cause in any way.
I'm more than happy to adjudicate your lack of experience in the veterans thread.
Please do. You talk a lot of shit, but I never see you contribute anything to that thread. You are just a bitter Marine. ...but again, I don't think you spent a day in uniform with the USMC. Plus, all you do is complain and insult.
Also, regarding deployments. The length of time is different depending on branch of the military and branch MOS. You have 3, 6, and 12 month deployments. Not all deployments are alike. I was involved in all 3 during my time in service.
However, we're still gonna address every stupid claim you make here. Like when you told us 2 1/2 years ago that Ukraine was about to fold. Stuff like that isn't going to get ignored, no matter how much you beg for your propaganda to go unchallenged.
We? The idiots from the peanut gallery? You just love impressing (trying) your stupid little friends, don't you? You love the attention. The thread's little "attention whore." Why hasn't Ukraine won this war with all the financial and military aid it has received in 3 years? Watch what happens to Ukraine after Trump takes office.

But Ukraine wasn't ever anywhere remotely close to actually getting NATO membership lol. It was impossible given their circumstances lmao. You do this over and over and by God it's retarded. Russia invaded because Putin wants their stuff, full stop. Ukraine never threatened them. Nobody threatened them.

Damn, you continue to go in circles Limbo.
If Putin wants 'their stuff' as you put it, why did they not get the whole country back when they invaded Crimea in 2014? Why wait 8 years for a second invasion? ...and it is perfectly okay for the US to tell Cuba how to run their country or invade Laos and Cambodia during the Vietnam war. Yeah, we American can get away with anything, but the Russians cannot. Oh, yeah, and Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction (WMD) after all. What were Cheney and Rumsfeld thinking?

The only people pushing nuclear war narrative are the Russians, their apologists and those being on the Russian bankroll.

Russia cannot resort to nukes for a variety of reasons. Even Russia stopped with it because it's so stupid. Anything shy of a march on Moscow by foreign power, ICBMs by US or direct attack by NATO would be stupid.

Beyond deterrence nuclear weapons have several uses and none of them would help them in Ukraine.

Your endless fearmongering a la Russia propaganda is ineffective.

I do find it amusing the way NATO strung Ukraine along in the 90s and early 2000s. It's almost comical if you read the titles of those agreements.

At no point was Ukraine going to join NATO. Russia feared Ukraine joining EU. That was the real issue. But even that was a far off goal for the Ukrainians due to various ongoing issues like corruption.

This. Even if Putin had told nothing, Ukr had actual 0 chances to get in NATO or EU till this day if Putin didn't had invaded and had told nothing.
Vuala, and then Ukr now already had next parliament and president elected ruling today...
Without 1 shot fired.

Ukr chances quickly to join EU? In 2022-2024 th?
Almost impossible.
If to bear in mind realpolitik in europe ...and some countries does have fear to see ukr in EU.
For different reasons...
This even if Ukr had 0 border disputes and Putin told 0.

Ukraine had low salaries and relatively high unemployment so ...if accepted in EU ...a lit of immigrants from Ukr in EU.
ALSO more important that they if accepted had to get damn huge grants for infrasturcure and a lot of agricultural subsidies...paid by EU taxpayers....
Not all voters in EU are happy to see such scenario.
Ofc if to add here reality about kleptocracy in Ukraine .....
