I believe he has had to do this to entice men From Moscow and St Petersburg as he has pillaged all he can from the rural areas and also hope to lure some more from other poor countries… of course prob offering Russian citizenship when is great these days.
Unfortunately looks that at least this year Putin still will have money to continue hiring for this so called special operation.

Even worse: all this chinesse, Iranian and North Korean stuff visiting Belarus and Russia are....so called agricultural specialists.

Agricultural specialist is jargon slang word used in USSR In some circles and had been used to describe stuff when ussr had sent these to syria, Angola, Vietnam etc ....
These weren't conscripts or noobs .....
Usually some guys with education in some technical field, after this military stuff and additional education........

Russia and Belarus most likely wants to get so called experience exchange with NK, Iran, China.......

Unfortunately Putin doesn’t cares about real economy: he is pumping savings to fund russia's military industrial complex and to hire manpower for this special operation.
Therefore he does see reduced unemployment % and GDP growth despite inherned economy value should be with GDP drop down..... without military orders increased....

Did not want to create a new thread but this could be sending a message to Russia too.

yep..sub destroyed

Unless Ukraine is considering retaking Crimea (which seems unlikely), wouldn’t these munitions and effort be better served in arresting Russian advances in the ground war to the East?

Interested in your thoughts.

Putin's internet influencers are claiming the F-16's where brought in with tactical nuclear weapons. Really dumb a$$es.

Seems like they sent proper combat units into Russia this time, not unlike the last couple of recon/sabotage groups.

Wonder what the real angle is here.

They keep putting high value air Defense assets in the area, and also it will push the Russian navy out of firing range of Odessa. Also the mirage 2000s are gonna be coming with Exocet missiles.

imagine having F-16s flying freely around Crimea with harpoon which they do have

What’s the strategic value in doing this?
Are they going further in

The past month hasn't been good for Ukraine. Russia is breaking through in Donesk and Ukraine needs a victory of some sort to ensure Western support.

While you might argue that this is a PR stunt, ensuring NATO members don't lose faith is part of Ukraine's strategy as well. They need to show they can still perform offensive operations rather than simply getting pushed back.

That makes sense, but this is a land war and I don’t think Russia is launching attacks from the sea?

Sacrificing combat troops for PR to a western audience which is largely uninterested seems wasteful

After Mali, Niger also cutting diplomatic ties with Ukraine:

Ukraine is sending its special forces to train and support Tuareg insurgents in the Sahel region, presumably with intel support from Murica. They do it so they can disrupt Russian operations in Africa. The problem is that Russia is helping the military regimes in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, so the juntas naturally lose their shit at Ukraine for arming their separatist movement.

Like I said, Africa is a giant clusterfuck of covert warfare by world powers.
