Many of these websites have little sliders to let you adjust the time period. Putin comes into power in late 1999.

Also, I was a little quick on the draw- male life expectancy has gone up almost ten years, female much less. If someone increased American household income this much, we'd crawl over broken glass to amend the constitution to make them president for life too.

You may say Russia was at rock bottom in the late 90s, and that is probably true. But the perception is that he pulled them out of the gutter and made life much better, which the numbers back up. If I were running Russia I would not have launched this war- its inexplicable to me- which just tells me that I have incomplete information.

It was a time of great transition so it's hard to say someone else wouldn't have done as well as he did. Especially if you consider all the corruption and human rights issues.

I can’t watch it now but I’m assuming that it’s saying Putin will not sign for peace because it’s a death sentence for him at home if he does?

You missed the whole point of the original post. Nothing to do with putting nukes in Ukraine. Everything to do with how the US told Cuba, and the Soviet Union, how it did not want nuclear missiles in Cuba. Similar to how Russia does not want Ukraine to join NATO.

You tell your mom: I need $10 dollars to buy 10 apples since they cost $1 dollar, then you go to the store and buy 10 apples and you find out that you still have $5 dollars left because you calculated the cost of 10 apples wrong, they were .50 cents each."
1. .50 cents x 10 = $5.
2. $10 - $5 = $5
3. You now have an extra $5 you can send to Ukraine. o_O

So, you are implying that if Ukraine does launch a nuclear attack on Russia, that would be the end of the issue. Russia would never retaliate. How could they? It would lead to a nuclear war, and everyone would be dead. Makes perfect sense to me. o_O
 
Putin anyway will order russians to stay in Crimea. They even are continuing to dig trenches etc each day since january.
Before WW1 era Crimea didn't had bridges and canal, ppl lived in Crimea and no one had died cos lack of canal and bridges...
Crimea does have ports and russia might use them to supply Crimea with food etc....
 
+ I think that Putin will continue tell that everything is as had been planned.
+ to reduce unemployment % Putin definitely will order to hire even more ppl to build fortifications and to dig even more trenches.

Ukraine was not about to join NATO. That was always a false premise that’s been debunked like a bunch of times. So that’s not a good point at all, even if we overlook the fact that you’re comparing it to something that happened to two antagonist nations over 60 years ago

Not sure if you're being obtuse or just trolling but I think it's fairly obvious that Russia knowing that Ukraine would only have the option of launching its nukes in a full on invasion scenario would not invade. If Russia invades against a nuclear Ukraine, it would be nuclear war.

This is the reason US is not stomping out Russia conventionally right about now. Even if US could shoot down most of the still serviceable Russian nukes, the ones that would go through would still cause significant destruction and therefore US is choosing not to. Russia also knows it stands no chance in a conventional war with US so as soon as US makes any attempts to invade Russia or launch missiles on Moscow, Russia would likely retaliate with nukes in an escalating fashion.

A suspected lone Russian diplomat is apparently squatting on the site of Moscow's proposed embassy after the Australian government vetoed the plan on security grounds. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese dismissed the Russian act of defiance, saying “some bloke standing in the cold on a bit of grass in Canberra is not a threat to our national security.”
