Russians are gone but artillery keeps hitting them from a remote position and using newly made drones. Ukraine building new defense.

I think Putin was told - and believed - that the invasion would be completed within a matter of weeks and result in control of the whole country, like say if the US decided to invade a neighbor and spent months building up forces on its border.

No one tells Putin I mean Putler anything he makes up his own mind he is like some other guy "former P" who believes he knows better then anyone. There is no one advising him to where he has already made up his mind. He even convinced China to fall in line with his BS. Traveling to China for the opening events at the Olympics. He will commit every last Russian his ended their lives for his wars.

Wrong again

If I have a box full of apples that I have already bought and paid for, and I then say I’ll give you $5 worth.

Initially I assume each Apple is worth $1 so I give you 5. Then I realise each apple is only worth $0.5 and so I give you 5 more. I do not spend any more money in this process.

Well I think you are wrong. I think he listened to his military and intelligence services who told him what he wanted to hear.

Thats not really what he covers in this video. Basically boils down to Russia views the annexed land as Russia now. So any peace deal, from their POV requires Ukraine to give up even more land (ridiculous i know). And the war is now a perpetual crisis that can help Putin shore up power by giving him something to blame for any hardships felt at home.

You missed the whole point of the original post. Nothing to do with putting nukes in Ukraine. Everything to do with how the US told Cuba, and the Soviet Union, how it did not want nuclear missiles in Cuba. Similar to how Russia does not want Ukraine to join NATO.

and now Finland is in NATO as a result of this, which is closer to St Petersburg than Ukraine is to Moscow.

Based on how some members of the armed forces reacted only to be replaced time an time again he really doesn't listen to anyone other then the voices in his head.

Soin Marino is still doing his spin and moving goalposts at will. Even the Russian shills have gone the way of the Dodo bird. I believe grimballer said once Bakhmut falls it’s all over for UKR. But the only thing that ended was Wagner.

This could very well be true. The 2018 pension reform was ugly and their economy stalled a fair amount. It also cuts off, imo, an escape route for Russian liberals, as they are now stuck between a rock and a hard place. Elvira Nabullina was very against the war, but was forced to pick a side by the rhetoric and sanctions, and not surprisingly, picked her country first.
 
 
Prigozhin on record blaming the war on Shoigu not Putler for the start of the war.
