Didn't you say you tried getting into special forces but washed out before?
No.
Edit: and that's not to shit on your military track record. Tbf Rangers is more than hard enough.
I'm not a Ranger mate, I just went through the school (tab). Rangers are soldiers assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment. I was a lowly 'grunt' in an Infantry unit.

Let's stop this here please.
I'm only now seeing this. 'Military Roll Call! Veterans,' would be a better place for it. You are right.
Nobody wants to hear lame stories from us veterans. They don't believe any of it anyway.

This is definitely worrying and could even possibly be a push that could end the war? or at least use AFU’s reserves for their offensive. Russia looking to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses for a breakthrough.

Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesperson for the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told local television that Moscow had gathered more than 100,000 troops on the Lyman-Kupiansk axis, as well as 900 tanks, 555 artillery systems and 370 multiple rocket launchers.
That is quite a high number of troops, tanks, and artillery. Just when you thought Russia could not add more to the mix, more is added. The area, roughly between Kharkiv and Luhansk Oblast, is one of three sectors of the front in which Ukrainian forces have continued a counteroffensive.

No.

Doesn’t graduating from Ranger School make you a Ranger? I mean, I get it, you’re not an operator from the 75th regiment. But aren’t you still a Ranger? Not all Rangers go to the 75th Ranger regiment to become a specialized operator. Or am I wrong?

For those that don’t understand, an operator in the US military is basically a commando specialized in spec ops. In order to get into the 75th Ranger regiment, you first have to complete Ranger School, which is a leadership school with an high dropout rate due to it being tough.

ISW - Russia/Ukraine Conflict Campaign Assessment 19 July 2023.
Key Takeaways:
  • Russian forces launched an extensive missile and drone attack against port and grain infrastructure in southern Ukraine on July 19 likely to further emphasize Russia’s objections to the renewal of the Black Sea grain deal and hinder Ukraine’s ability to export grain.
  • An explosion at a Russian training ground in occupied Kirovskyi Raion (Islam Terek Raion), southeastern Crimea, disrupted the Russian use of the Tavrida highway that connects eastern Crimea to Sevastopol on July 19.
  • Ukrainian forces conducted counteroffensive operations on at least three sectors of the front on July 19 and made gains in these areas.
  • Ukrainian forces continued offensive operations in the Kupyansk area, near Kreminna, in the Bakhmut area, and along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City front and made gains near Bakhmut.
  • Russian forces continued offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, in the Bakhmut area, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City front, and in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia oblast area. They made marginal gains along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City front and reportedly made limited advances in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia oblast area.
  • Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia area and western Zaporizhia Oblast and made reportedly made gains in both sectors of the front.
  • The Russian State Duma adopted on July 19 a law on the first reading and “in general” that allows the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) to have heavy military equipment.
  • The Ukrainian Crimean-based “Atesh” partisan group conducted another successful attack on a Russian military convoy in occupied Kherson Oblast on July 14.

Doesn’t graduating from Ranger School make you a Ranger?
No. Just Ranger qualified (school). Just the Ranger tab on your uniform.
These days any branch of the US military can attend Army Ranger school, and any branch (MOS) of the Army can attend Ranger school. Unless you are Infantry, I really don't see the need to go to Ranger school. A lot of school slots (and funding) going to non-combat Army MOSs. Infantry in the Army National Guard gets paid by the state. The state pays to send you to school, not the government, hence limited slots. They don't pay if you get recycled - you go home. It really sucks!
I mean, I get it, you’re not an operator from the 75th Regiment. Not all Rangers go to the 75th Ranger Regiment to become a specialized operator. Or am I wrong?
You have to complete RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection) and Ranger School to be a true Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment.
Tough requirements to get in and tough requirements to stay in. Tough training and Op-tempo with a high turnover. It takes a hit on the soldier (Ranger) if you have a family. Jungle training in the peak of summer in Panama and cold weather training in the peak of winter in Alaska. Rangers are Infantry. Glorified Infantry, but Infantry none the less.

The Russians just now figured out that they had to light up Odessa?

The minute their little invasion went tits up, every single fucking gantry crane, and waterfront warehouse/storage facility in Ukraine should have become smouldering heap of scrap metal. Berthing should've been lit as well (as best as that can be managed).

Fucking clown show over there.

They wants to annex Odessa sooner or later and to invest as low ammount of money to rebuild something as it is possible.

I.e on the paper ofc they will invest a lot of money in ex soviet traditions...with contratcts for oligarchs companies...

To invest in reality ...
They already does have nice " achievements " to learn from.
Severodonestk is not usable as normal city anymore....Putin told that expenses to rebuild Severodonetsk will be calculated in 2024 th and russian government will finance rebuilding process from centralised federal budget.
This means russian taxpayers money....real money.

There ofc most likely Putin will cede wrecked factories to some oligarchs for cheap;) in order not to waste budget money for their rebuilding.

However city communications, power plants etc....this will be pleasure for russian taxpayers to pay for rebuilding.
IF Russia will keep Severodonetsk.

Ukr does have different plans.
To regain Severodonetsk and to rebuild it for.....our money....

So according to Prigozhin Ukr killed 30% of his mercenaries. He says Ukr know how to fight and fight for real but also says most of the blame for the big losses goes to RF ministry of defense for lack of supplies.

And when you consider the overall size of the front compared to the small section in which Wagner has operated, Wagner likely isn't the biggest loser in this war, Rus army probably has 200k+ killed soldiers not counting dpr/lpr

I don't think we can attach what both sides of the war and all media termed as a meat grinder to other parts of the frontlines.

That shit show at Bakhmut was heavy and at times the only real attempts of pushing the opposition ( both sides ) Ukraine willing to bleed because Wagner / Russia was bleeding far heavier.

Not to mention the extended period of time it went on in comparison to other line pushes / defences.

The lancet requires an observer drone so every lancet strike will have accompanying video. While it's very effective I think it's success is at least a littlr overrepresented.
Phoenix ghost was listed in the latest arms package from USA.
Very over represented compared to the ghost.

Phoenix ghost has been in Ukraine for a year now. Didn't even have a wiki page when it was first sent and I know that Ukraine got another batch shortly after the first when they publicly said it was preferred over the switchblade/s. So this is at a minimum their third batch.

Living up to the ghost nickname with no footage.

Which means the premiere military power of the worlds latest loitering munition is shit and ineffective.... or it went OPSEC.

Overall though they're all under represented for how effective they are. They're going to see a lot more money diverted to them across the board. Can't see them not being in the millions for some armies of the future.

Thus far looks that most effective thing vs ukr transport and tanks for russia were..... huge number of simple and cheap anti tank mines...
+ if produced before war, they cost them irl nothing cos money for them already had been paid for
...long ago.
Simplest models are most durable and very cheap.

Next stuff : howitzers and MRLS like Grad, Uragan.

Lancet they too are using, however there IMHO these bloggers loves to talk about some new technique....
It is getting more clicks than clips about very cheap and simple mines...

US already has. This thing is sick.

Might have been the video I watched because it contains the having to look up quote.

Being in testing for America gives a good indication of how monumental a task finding a solution to drones. Even America will take years to test and scale the technology to a point where they're actually happy and can retain the advantage they've enjoyed for decades.

That's big for a country that actively plans for problems that don't yet exist. Miles ahead of everyone else but still miles behind where they want to be.

After russia stopped to participate in this Black sea grain deal countries who mainly will suffer from this had kept silence. ;)
Europe might tell diplomatic talks but they are food exporters and why to bother too much?
Countries who will suffer are allowing to cultivate anti european propaganda and fakes in their mass media etc.;):).

Let's suffer, anyway they will blame europe :p so they might piss off with their problems. ;)
