They kinda hint at it but don’t reveal the trick. At least I’ve not seen them do so.If Penn & teller aren't fooled do they reveal the tricks or just hint at it enough the magician knows they know?
They use some code words, hints and phrases to say they got it. For example, with Misty Lee, they gave a ton of hints. If Penn & teller aren't fooled do they reveal the tricks or just hint at it enough the magician knows they know?
I stand corrected. My bad.July of LAST YEAR!!!
Uh huh. I'll just leave this here. One of my favorite comments from social media:It is a good show, but I'm disappointed P & T let this guy slip past them.
I'm no expert but even I could spot a seam or 2 in his tricks.
You can clearly tell at 3:34 he is putting finishing touches to tinkering with the cube to complete it in the bag
and
at 4:45 the cube is not completed, it's only half solved, he's concealing the rest.
P & T must have spotted this.
No idea how he did it throwing in the air and 1 or 2 other bits, but I've seen better acts on the show not fool them.
I guess they're just not Rubik's guys.
This was from this July, but it's a brilliant show. Thought I'd share.
Define for me what a "basic Rubik's Cube algorithm" is. Understand before you do this that I do know how to-- and can/have-- solve them. How did he trick them? All he's doing is using basic rubic's cube algorithms to get back to solved. He's just really good at it, but this isn't really magic if you know how people solve rubic's cubes. You can even see him turning the cube in the bag as he pulls it out.
I really like the show, but this was a dumb one.

Yes. You are aware that any Rubik's Cube purchase comes with a little booklet that informs you of the main one, correct?Well an algorithm is a set of rules to be followed to perform a calculation. For the Rubik's cube, there's a few of them that you can learn to solve the cube from any position.
Here's where you can learn some of the basic ones.

Here's an advanced method for speed solving.

I'm sure he's developed a few more advanced ones that work, but that's how people speed solve them. You can make a completely mixed Rubik's cube go from mixed to solved in a handful of moves if you know what you're doing.
It's impressive math and memorization technique, but nothing magical.
"The solution is actually very simple. See the Rubik's Cube in his hand is magnetized on all sides. Whenever he turns one side of the Rubik's Cube it magnetizes and that's when I have no idea what the fuck I'm actually talking about."
Yes. You are aware that any Rubik's Cube purchase comes with a little booklet that informs you of the main one, correct?
The thing about it is that it isn't the same set of moves from any given position. Rather, it's a map where you hit certain positions along the way, but the way to that position is never the same with any given solve. Only these checkpoints along the way.
Furthermore, did you care to read your own link? The World Records in official competition still take seconds, with both hands, eyes open, on the Cube, and right now the WR-- the single fastest time across the millions/billions of efforts in a formal competition-- is 4.59 seconds. Speed solving doesn't explain away his illusion. I'll just re-post this here:
You can try to sound smart, but your ignorance has already been exposed, here.As I said, those were the basic ones since you seemed to not understand what an algorithm is.
There are more advanced ones that allow you to solve it from any scrambled position using the same algorithm. The cube looks scrambled, but it's actually set to be solved in a few moves.
I have two very nerdy friends who do this stuff. You can scramble the thing for one of them and they'll use algorithms to solve it. It's not magnets. It's math.
