Different in boxing, a knockdown means you can only get 9 points, 8 for 2
In mma no one is forced to give a 10-8 even if there are 3 knockdowns

Amazing that after 25 years we aren’t any closer to having proper judging criteria and competent judges

In boxing you can lose a round you knocked you opponent down in, 9-9. However you really have to be getting your ass kicked, which was not the case in either round

All I know is that between the 4th and 5th rounds the doctor came into the cage not to check on Gus who ate that elbow and stayed standing, but to examine Jones. Big John tells the story about how he had to do some fast talking to keep the doctor from calling the fight off.
