Ronda Rousey v Cris Cyborg - Size Comparison

Can Ronda Rousey compete against Jorina Baars in Muay Thai? last a round even?

What does that matter? What's Baars' MMA record? Did Cyborg manage to one-hit crush Baars? I don't remember that happening.

tates chest is bigger. but shes clearly smaller framed then ronda. i dont believe there is that much of a difference in size between ronda and cyborg. aside from ab muscle def. and head size

When you're speaking of size, are you referring to thickness or height?

Because Cyborg is a few inches taller than Rousey, and her frame is wider, too.

LOL you brought up Cyborg competing in the olympics brah, i asked how long rousey would last against world class strikers?

Why did Rousey say she would fight Carano at 140-145 but she won't fight Cyborg at the same?

Cyborgs 5 best wins are probably Coenen, Carano, Coenen II, Porto, and Baszler. If you don't want to count Coenen twice, which you should, you could count Tate twice for Ronda, then you would take Coenen II out and slide Porto and Baszler up one and add Yamanaka to 5. At the times of these fights the fighters were no worse at all than Rondas current opponents.

One thing I don't like in this thread is that people are really going hard with the Zuffa goggles. It doesn't let an honest discussion arise.

moar bullshit

Where you at, noob? I'm waiting for you to show me some of these miraculous one-hit KO's that you know Cyborg has never done. Also waiting for you to tell me what 1-3 record-owning Jorina Baars has to do with undefeated world champion superstar Howdy Honda. Why doesn't Cyborg go to the olympics and face the best judoka in the world? Oh, because that's not her game. Similarly to why Ronda Rousey isn't taking muay thai fights. Also because she's not a broke-ass cheater who needs Cyborg's name to make a few bucks. Face it, Cyborg is a sideshow in a tent, and she's there because she chooses to be there. She only wants the big time to come to her, she decided long ago not to come to it, but that won't stop her from using the big time to leech a few bucks.

Not him but one would assume that when they say KO power they literally mean the power to KO or TKO someone seeing as even a TKO shows that power, not necessarily out cold one hitters. People talk about Anderson Silvas KO power even though he's not known for one shots in the same way. Similarly people talk about Chucks or Rampages power even though they hadn't and haven't one shot anyone in a long time.

A semantic battle doesn't help anyone on either side really.

I assume he brought up Baars since she's one of the best MT practitioners in the world and Cyborg took her on and gave her a good fight when she herself was in comparison a novice. Sure he MMA record isn't great but that is besides the point. Cyborg went into MT to fight one of the best similar to how if she did try to go to the Olympics in Judo she would be fighting the best. Once again, semantics.

The rest of your post was overly emotional and shows you are already predisposed to taking your side in this discussion so I won't touch on that.

Refer to my last post.

Worst pictures ever. Almost looks trollish. Cyborgs wearing 6 inch heels with bisping. Tate's standing in a ditch. Cyborg on her tippietoes.

How is Tate standing in a ditch in the first picture with both of them. In fact Tate has a slight height advantage standing on a mat. Plus, this only affects the height not the size difference where Cyborg is clearly bigger and not closer to the camera. According to stats, Cyborg has a 2 inch height advantage to go with her bigger size.

I've never said Cris isn't bigger. She clearly is ~20lbs heavier.

Cris has no clean ko's against inferior competition. Ronda has more ko power.

For the sake of YOUR credibility, tell us that you were lying when you said Cris knocks out men in training. Because it's really odd that she can't ko Finney, 128lb Akano, Takahashi cleanly but she can ko men.

Ronda has not attempted enough punches to even rate her KO power. And even in a comparison versus Cyborg it would only be viable if we are doing it relative to the weight Ronda currently fights. Ronda would likely never KO a 145 lb weigh in opponent like Cyborg in a sudden catch weight or super fight (6 months preparation). And there is no sense in comparing in the opposite direction because it will likely never happen (or it would have already).

The above facts make it stupid for people to continue to troll regarding this fight when it is the same as requesting super fights on the male MMA side. In most cases it doesn't work out so good for the smaller opponent. Frankie Edgar is probably the only exception who has succeeded in fighting larger fighters in the weight class above him for titles and on those the huge majority are point decisions. BJ Penn won one title fight but lost several other fights in WW division.

EDIT* Oops. It looks like I replied to the wrong post. But my comment still stands.

Most of Cyborgs opponents are natural 135, 125 and even 115 pounders... and she still hasn't KOd anyone

Lol, you've never watched Cris fight. She has no clean ko's despite her horrendous steroid use and 125lb opponents. Sit down.

i don't care. Rousey can keep claiming to be the best fighter alive while blatantly ducking challengers. Real fans know what's up.

Cris has ducked Ronda/enhanced testing three times.

Ronda isn't scared. It is pretty obvious that Cyborg is the reason the fight hasn't happened. She has ducked/ran, lied and changed her mind a hundred times about nearly everything you can think of over the last four years to the point that nothing she says or does can be taken seriously.

First, the histry of Ronda going to 135 is outlined in this historical sherdog thread:

http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/92583821-post954.html

Then, what happend next was that Ronda beat Budd and Cyborg got busted for steroids. Ronda still agrees to fight Cyborg at 145 (According to Cyborg and her lawyers) for the FW title. However, with Cyborg unable to get her suspension reduced SF gets rid of the 145 class, effectively cancelling the fight (Cyborg's ruins the fight #1).
http://www.mmamania.com/2012/4/9/29...on-upheld-strikeforce-ronda-rousey-female-mma

Cyborg then says she will fight Ronda at a catchweight of 140 (Aug 13, 2012)
http://www.mmamania.com/2012/8/13/3240734/cris-cyborg-ronda-rousey-fight-catchweight

To which Ronda's manager agrees with VADA drug and hair folicle testing (Aug 19)
http://www.mmamania.com/2012/8/20/3256102/ronda-rousey-drug-testing-cyborg-steroids-strikeforce-mma

To which Cyborg backs out almost instantly saying she "will fight at 145, no less" and that she is the champion (actually she wasn't, she was stripped of the belt), and Cyborg ruins the fight for a second time, and ducks Ronda directly for the first time.
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/spor...ight-rousey-at-145-pounds----no-less/828222/1

Then the UFC buys SF and picks up Ronda's contract and creates the 135 class. Then, the UFC picks up Cyborg's contract and even offers to let her to go Invicta and make money while she trims down until she can make 135. They even offered to PAY Mike Dolce for her to help her lose the weight.

Cyborg responds by asking to be released from the UFC. (Cyborg ruins the fight #3, Cyborg ducks Ronda #2)

[YT]ngrOrDcT9Fg[/YT]
[YT]TnrI1l6qvO4[/YT]

Then, the UFC gets cozy with Invicta, puts them on fightpass and makes an agreement that Cyborg will get into the UFC if she makes 135. Cyborg signs a contract to make 135 in Dec 2014, but continues to lift weights on a daily basis and doesn't even try to cut the weight, pulling out of the fight and saying she will continue to fight at 145, but that she will still fight Ronda at 145, effectively ducking the fight again (duck #3) by not agreeing to the terms that will get her the bout agreement

This doesn't even take into account all the times Cyborg says she is going to 135, then she will die if she does, then she will be fine, then dead again ... etc.

Here is Cyborg weighing in at 140

cyborg-weighin.jpg

http://www.mmaontap.com/mma/entry/elitexc-unfinished-business-weigh-in-results

she doesn't exactly look like a concentration camp victim, she is still carrying a ton of muscle mass. She just has to drop five pounds of it and the fight is on. Cyborg is just too psychologically attached/addicted to her muscle mass to let it go. She knows she can keep her name in the headlines by barking at Ronda from a distance, while never having to actually take the fight.

Cyborg has no leverage to dictate the terms. Ronda is going nowhere, she is a stationary target, if Cyborg wants the fight, she knows where she has to go to get it.

The day before her Invicta weigh-in against Tweet, Cyborg said she could "make 140 tomorrow"
http://mmajunkie.com/2015/02/cyborg...ufc-champ-ronda-rousey-at-140-pounds-tomorrow

but since she says she currently walks around at 175
B_DLOiqUQAAQ2Fx.jpg

that means she is saying she can fight at a weight 35 pounds below her walkaround weight, but claimed it was physically impossible, and maybe even fatal, if she tried to cut from her walkaround weight of 160 (see video above) down to 135 back when she asked to be released from the UFC, even though that is only 25 pounds. The only conclusion was that she JUST DIDN'T WANT THE FIGHT, since she could have clearly cut the weight.

So lose five pounds of muscle from where you were before and make the fight. The UFC wasn't willing to make a catchweight fight for Carano ("White made it clear that if such a fight would happen, it would have to occur at 135 pounds."), so they sure aren't going to make one for you.

http://www.mmafighting.com/2014/4/9...y-say-gina-carano-deserves-an-immediate-title

Quit running, or does she only want to fight with a huge weight advantage where she can alter the scale to make weight? Complete lack of class and sportsmanship.

http://www.mmaweekly.com/details-of-the-cyborg-vs-akano-controversy-2

but of course Cyborg won't cut the weight, here you can hear in her own words at 4:40 that she has no desire to fight without having a huge size advantage.

If Cyborg would just cut back on the powerlifting and protein shakes (and we know what else she does) she would start to go back to her natural, walk-around weight of 137 like you can see here, and she won't even be a big 135 pounder.

Name the fighters that Cyborg has fought that are 125 lb and 115 lb fighters so we can verify their fight history. Name even one that fought in those weight classes (115 or 125) any time recent to their fight against Cyborg versus when they were barely not a teen ager.

I am certainly not here to brag about Cyborg, but the people she has fought have fought in her weight class and are not petite girls. I will agree with the majority that they are lower quality versus UFC fighters who fight more regularly and have higher spending levels to fund their training.

Cyborg's toughest fight has been against Marloes Coenen who is even taller than Cyborg. She has fought at 135 lbs before, but that is a tough weight cut for her. In fact yesterday she tweeted a desire for another match with Cyborg. She also lost to Tate in about the same amount of time as she lost to Cyborg (by different method and in 135 lb in lieu of 145 lb).

As of right now, who is telling who to drop a weight class whilst claiming to be the best in the world?

Cris has abused steroids. She's weighed in at 140 and 137 with room to spare. She will never fight in the UFC even at 145 because of the enhanced testing. Invicta has a single fight night piss test. Cris ain't going anywhere even to fight Ronda at 145.
