Ronaldo Jacar

Somewhere Weidman is loling...

Weidman doesn't lay & pray. He either sub hunts like a motherf*cker or ground & pounds.

I see Carmont knocking him out. Carmont will pick him apart if comes out trying to brawl

Gotta love that Canadian weed. THIS sh*t right here^ (Katt Williams' voice) is hilarious.

Good news...Carmont will not take you down...he will out-strike you tho.

Jacare's striking has improved but I think Weidman was a better striker to begin with and seems to be improving in that area faster.

Jacare has twice as many fights but less than half as many KO/TKOs.

The only area where Weidman could possibly be said to have the advantage is striking power. Jacare submits him on the ground in a hurry, and Jacare's last fight proved that he has KO power also. I've got Jacare 9 times out of 10 against Weidman, Vitor 10 times out of 10 against Weidman, and Machida 9 times out of 10. Weidman is solid all-around, but a far, FAR cry from the MMA god his ball-licking fanboys on here have blown him up to be. Rockhold and Mousasi would be 50/50 against Weidman

Jacare never said that. TS did.

The quote I was responding to is right in my post and it was a single sentence long. Surely you can take the time to actually read it.

It clearly says "No one holds me down" as the title of the article so it wasn't just TS.

This guy is prbly the hardest match up to Wiedman overall.

He doesn't have the raw power, but he is more crisp in terms of standup.

I would love to see a Mousasi rematch. Much respect to the Jacare that he even said that up kick was not luck.

Outside of that untypical lackluster fight against Rockhold( I def have Jacare in a rematch), the dude brings it.

IMO that really depends on the wrestling, if Jacare can't get Weidman down or make him respect his takedowns he will be an easy match up for Weidman if he can do that it will be a really tough fight.

I disagree, Weidman's striking is very technical, generally he isn't flashy but his fundamentals are better and he is more fluid, Jacare seems to load up more on his strikes too which causes him to fight at a slower pace to conserve energy.

I remember that fight being quite good, with Jacare winning the first 2 rounds and Rockhold coming on strong in the third and taking the last 3 rounds in a very competitive fight.

Except Weidman.

Weidman beats Jacare in round 1 via TKO.

Carmont is the better kickboxer of the two.

Holy shit, you sound delusional. Weidman has never been outstruck in MMA yet and has dropped more people standing than Jacare, he's also shown much better footwork and has faced the better strikers.

Weidman has never been taken down and has better grappling than many guys Jacare couldn't submit so I doubt Jacare submits Weidman in a hurry when he couldn't submit Rockhold, Kennedy, Joey Villasenor, and Jason Miller.

Machida has the best chance of beating Weidman then either Jacare or Vitor, really depending on how Jacare's wrestling matches up with Weidmans, then I would say Rockhold due to his kickboxing, and defensive grappling/wrestling, everyone else doesn't match up well with Weidman at all.

Mousasi would get thrashed by Weidman, his TDD is garbage, Vitor has a tough time with big athletic wrestlers so I see him breaking in that fight like he does most of the time in those types of match ups.

Vitor smashing guys who he is a horrible match up for proves nothing, Bisping and Rockhold were tailor made fights for Vitor and Henderson fought like a moron giving Vitor a free power shot to his head.

His time of humbling against Chris Weidman will come...

Seriously? You

Not saying it would've changed the outcome, but in fairness to Maia, he also had his opponent switched on him on extremely short notice. He went from facing basically a striker to one of the most well-rounded grapplers in the sport.

Also, that fight wasn't really an impressive performance by either fighter. They both gassed towards the end of round 1. Weidman was recovering from a drastic weight cut and Maia was fighting way out of his natural weight class against a much bigger (and highly talented) opponent.

you know "natural" weight class is the weight class you should fight at, if you're not cutting weight right?

I don't see anyone out grappling jacare on the ground, I can see some guys being able to hang with him at best

I think Weidman can do it but I don't think anyone else has the wrestling/grappling to do it. It would be competitive on the ground since Weidman would most likely be on top.
