Ronaldo Jacar

I would fucking love to see Carmont do to Jacare what he did in his last fight.

Carmont will KO him and then lay on his comatosed body

From what I remember he was still looking to pass guard and work submissions, that isn't LnP. LnP is when a guy just sits in guard and lands weak punches, like Fitch or Sonnen have often done.

Weidman vs Maia was basically a guy on extremely short notice that was exhausted but still took Maia down and got the better of the grappling exchanges and striking.

Not saying it would've changed the outcome, but in fairness to Maia, he also had his opponent switched on him on extremely short notice. He went from facing basically a striker to one of the most well-rounded grapplers in the sport.

Also, that fight wasn't really an impressive performance by either fighter. They both gassed towards the end of round 1. Weidman was recovering from a drastic weight cut and Maia was fighting way out of his natural weight class against a much bigger (and highly talented) opponent.

I expect Jacare to easily demolish Carmont anywhere the fight takes place. His idiotic fanboys almost make me wish otherwise... he's ranked like 3 in the division? He lost to Rockhold a few fights ago & hasn't beaten more than 1 top ten.

He doesn't LnP but I think Weidman could take him down and be able to land shots while avoiding submissions but I think if/when that fight happens Weidman will keep it standing for most of the fight and work in some takedowns, similar to the Maia fight only not on very short notice with a huge weight cut.

Yup, he'd use the same gameplan that Rockhold used against Jacare. Pretty boring but that worked.

Let's not forget the huge improvements in Jacare's striking game however.

This guy is prbly the hardest match up to Wiedman overall.

He doesn't have the raw power, but he is more crisp in terms of standup.

I would love to see a Mousasi rematch. Much respect to the Jacare that he even said that up kick was not luck.

Outside of that untypical lackluster fight against Rockhold( I def have Jacare in a rematch), the dude brings it.

I'm not sure Weidman could, or even should, do what Rockhold did to Jacare. Luke's game plan was to basically weather the first 2 rounds and out cardio Jacare for the last 3 rounds. Probably not the best game plan for Chris.

That fight would've been FotN if Strikeforce had a FotN bonus. Completely off the hook. Do you people even watch these fights that you comment on?

...don't need to, Gegard sent him sleeping on the ground

Jacare has some scary good grappling. If his striking keeps improving he will be a handful for anyone at MW.

Looks is definitely not one of Kennedy's attributes

jacare was standing when he got upckicked. If someone is going to sleep in a grappling match between them both, thats gegard.

True but IMO having your opponent changed isn't nearly as bad as having no training camp and a much shorter time to cut weight.

I disagree with that, Maia had not yet fought at WW so it's not really fair to say he was fighting out of his natural weight class that he never had competed in.

Jacare's striking has improved but I think Weidman was a better striker to begin with and seems to be improving in that area faster.

Jacare has twice as many fights but less than half as many KO/TKOs.

i disagree though. machids is a nightmare matchup for weidman on paper. and jac's striking isn't "crisp". he's got some power but he only throws overhands.
