Rogan: "Rondas movie career is what did her in"

What movies was she in again besides the Despicables or whatever it was called with Stallone

She fought women that are one strand of DNA away from being born men, let’s be totally honest here!

Why she alway lay her head on her left shoulder lol... she was dropping world boxing champions with BODY shots yo!

You underestimate the level of pressure someone with that level of stardom deals with and how much it can effect their career
What movie career? She had 2 cameos. Its ok to admit she got beat by better fighters.. she could fight nunes for instance 10 times do you honestly think she is coming out on the high side of that 10 fights?

Odds are she loses 7-8 from past evidence her movie career wasnt there the first 5 yrs she had to develop her boxing, it just wasnt that good she peaked in that skill set similar to a diego sanchez truth hurts bud.

Its more likely she met a few bad matchups and lost , it happens to most but maybe she was stressed out like gsp was talking about the stress of defending. But saying a few cameos that take a week or less to film ruined her career is just silly and excuse making.

Agents having things lined up 6months down the line "roadhouse reboot " doesnt matter if you lose as she learned all that goes away... mile22 goes to mark walberg why because her acting is as bad as her striking so another cameo.. her judo is great but she was always a 1 trick pony ipen your eyes its very easy to see.. first person that kept it standing and could move and strike was gonna trouble her every single time its her vice she has slow feet and bad hands..

Ronda is to WMMA what Royce was to MMA

Someone who was elite in a certain discipline and was able to beat people while the sport was developing. Neither of them stood a chance when the overall quality of the sport was raised.

You could argue that UFC Cro Cop was hype. He rode in on great expectations, to put it mildly. He was generally expected to be a champ.

*fizzle*
comparing elite male MMA with amateur female MMA ?

Everyone knows that Ronda beat amateur female fighters.

It ended for Ronda when better fighters came.

if Ronda were a man he would not be TOP 30 with his skills.

She was undefeated champion for how long? Definitely doesn't classify as hype no matter how unlikable she was.
It was more than that. Way more. They said with ascending incredulity:

Greatest woman combat athlete ever (this is not even true)
Greatest combat athlete ever
Greatest woman athlete ever
Could beat the men's divisions
Could beat prime Cain Velasquez

Like 2 1/2 years or 3 1/2 if you include her Strikeforce fights? But this is a bad example my friend. The quality of each opponent matters. The reality is that she fought in a newly created female division which lacked depth. Hell even to this day WMMA is still shallow.
But its not her fault she was so much better then her opponents. If anything it speaks to her greatness. Rhonda was a beast and is probably still the 2nd greatest wmma fighter behind Nunes

Problem is she had one foot out the door long before. Even her first loss.

You gotta be 100% all in mma or nothing at all.

Same thing we've seen in many athletes throughout the years

You'd be a fool to think being influenced and pressured in so many arenas didn't effect her training and fighting potential

One could argue something similar for Conor.

Distractions steal your fire and potential. Plain and simple and someone truly at the top of the foodchain when it comes to stardom has way more to deal with than anyone could possibly realize
So you think 2014 ronda would do any better in the stand up against holly or nunes lol ok bud

you are a fanboy and dont see the truth only this proped up gracie figure history will remember her as a women who got women in the ufc. Ive seen you in every ronda thread for a long time if i didnt know better i would think you were travis haha have a blessed day sir

What's the thing people say once a hype train is derailed? "He was never that good." "He was beating up nobodies." "Once he faced actual competition, he was exposed." People normally don't say that about champions, and certainly not about champions with long winning streaks. But they did (rightly) with Ronda. In her case, despite being the champion, her popularity was absolutely hype, and that hype came from her streak, not her skills.

My point was that being undefeated is EXACTLY what prompts a hype train. And given that, it seems a strange conclusion to say it's not hype just because the person has a lot of wins.
At the time she was indisputably the greatest women fighter in the world, like not even a remotely close 2nd. To say she is all hype doesnt do her career justice. She singlehandedly brought wmma to the UFC no matter your feelings about her.

She loses 2 fights to very good fighters and now people act like she always sucked which isnt the case..... Just like with all great fighters if you keep taking fights you're gonna lose at some point.

She very well could have lost to liz in her first fight. If that choke was any tighter we wouldnt be having this conversation

What did Ronda in was the dangerous combination of dropping her real trainers in exchange for Edmond, believing her own hype, and getting a taste of real competition with actual skills not just beating up over matched soccer mom's and Miesha tate.

Shit like this is why I can't stand Joe.

You have to remember, rogan told ronda how he sat transfixed, watching her strut, and then he started crying. Can you imagine telling another person how you were fixated on watching them strut and then proceed to burst into tears at how powerful the memory is for you? Of course rogan is gonna be batshit crazy when it comes to rousey

"all hype"? Her run was legit, she beat very good fighters as champs, but she had some obvious striking-defense holes in her game that having that great run probably glossed over in the mind of her and her camp.

The Rogan-style hype about her being the most dominant athlete ever in the history of the world? Of course that was BS, but Rogan says that kind of shit about any fighter at any time.

When you say "all hype" I'm thinking about someone who sucks and isn't a legitimate fighter, so in that context, no, she was not "all hype," IMO.
