Bc men generally reach their peaks around that time. He is still a teenager, won't stop even growing for several more years. And he will collect the experience to match by that time. 19 is no way the prime of his life

Wrong. Men genetically peak between the ages of 16 - 24. I was fighting for my life at the age of 19; I assure you the lad at that age is ready to go.

I mean he probably would have won it on decision but still BOOOOOOO

Congrats to Mikuru, Suzuki needs to go train with Horiguchi to ATT or something because he's going to be grapplefucked by a lot of guys if he doesn't improve his TDD and getting back on the feet

I feel for Suzuki, two questionable losses in a row (Dautbek could have gone either way imo)

Not sure where he goes now

I do not believe he will be a better fighter at 19 than at 29. Experience matters. We saw it earlier when 26 year old Saku Jr's arm popped. I am aware that men will stop growing at some point before 25, but he will not have the amount of experience that will entail his prime as a fighter until years after

So, rematch against Ren next for Mikuru? If he fights like today I would say he's a heavy favorite

You got to take into account the wear and tear of training and fighting as well. I remember there was a thread here back in the day about how in general top fighters start to decline after about 7 years of active fighting career.

You might be right. But that doesn't mean he isn't already reasonably experienced now - been fighting professionally since he was 16 - and has been active and should stay as active as possible and try to get as much of that experience as soon as possible.

Not to mention, a fighter's "prime" is often considered when they start getting - and winning - the big money fights. If he stays as active as possible, those fights could be coming in a few years; not when he's almost 30. That is the point I am making.

No doubt will be next for both. Mikuru fought smart, you can see the Western influence in his gameplan

I never said anything about him not being active though, so I'm not sure why you're trying to make the point. All I said was that in 10 years, meaning when his experience level is high, presumably from staying active, he's going to be a beast
