Social Riverside Sheriff claims foiled assassination plot against Trump, Secret Service disagrees

another republican tried to assasinate the mandarin molester? jesus christ, just how many gay lovers is big gay don having quarrels with lately?

the way they are happening so frequently i wonder if they are running some kind of a deal on these things, where after 4 assassination attempts the 5'th one is free?

reading more into it it seems like this guy is also a sovereign citizen. these people are rather fucked in the head and always have a knack for turning their parking tickets into the death penalty. for all we know the dude was just driving around without a license (like most sovcits do) and then ran into the roadblock and put on a show for the cops and did the whole sovereign citizen dance and then produced a fake id, so they probably just decided to search his car and book him in for obstruction or whatever else they could get.

this whole assassination plot is probably just overblown and sensationalized just because of where he was and what he was carrying at the time. i mean if they had any evidence or suspicion that he was going to, or was planning on assassinating a former president and presidential nominee, they probably wouldn't let him out on a $5000 bond the same damn day.

if this was any kind of assassination attempt, then clearly he did not think this through and they are not sending their best. does he really expect to be able to get within range of the former president while brandishing a pistol and a shotgun? and why the need for two guns? what is he gonna run in there call of duty style dual wielding shotguns and shit? i mean he would probably have to, otherwise the second gun is a total waste because secret service will have him dead before he even gets the second gun out. motherfucker won't even make it within shooting range before getting put down. i mean what, is he going to try to sneak his way into a trump rally with a shotgun in his pocket?

probably just another run of the mill gun-toting sovereign citizen caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time. if that guy was actually plotting to kill the former president then he's dumb as shit.

Your blind spot and tunnel vision when it comes to the current Republican party and how it got there is astonishing.

The right has been the active cheerleaders in the race to the bottom for political weaponisation of the media, and the outright falsification of news, the matryrdom of their own cause, and the demonisation of opposing viewpoints.

Limbaugh, Hannity, and the rise of "Fair and Balanced" Fox News has dragged political discourse in your country into the absolute gutter. Fox News is, evidenced the Supreme Court rulings , and by their own admission, the abiogenesis of the concept of fake News.

And when Trump went even further than this and the media and the party refused to follow into the gutter, it effectively splintered the party and created the Tea Party, which was the Entree to the current main course Shit Souffle that is Maga and Trump.

And now the whole apparatus has fallen in lock step behind the Coppertoned Crook, and is losing it blaming everyone else for the rise in toxicity in American Politics.

Does the left get hysterical about Trump. Yes. It's it responsible for crazy people? No. Everybody is responsible for the things they do and say.

Surely the party of personal responsibility and fuck your feelings does not abrogate personal accountability in this case. Or is it a two tiered system when looking in the mirror?

But pretending like the Democrats are the main villian's when they got sucker punched and pulled into the gutter by Trump is clown shoes time.

Give. Me. A. Fucking. Break
Wrong. I have not exculpated the right. I was critical of FOX years before the rise of Trump, and I continued to mock them in recent years such as over their internal memos revealing many of their own senior hosts didn't believe their network coverage of events about Trump (ex. specifically how they were handling the election outcome). But, no, the political right most definitely did not originate the "weaponization", as you would call it, of the media towards suppressing the speech of the opposing side under the pretense of concern about how that rhetoric might foment violence among the fringe of the opposing side. That was definitely the left.

Further, in the most recent decade, FOX hasn't disguised its lack of bias. It has leaned into it and embraced it. Meanwhile, leftists on the board have parroted the insistence of the corporate liberal media that has far more insidiously purported to maintain nonpartisan journalistic standards when they have done no such thing. It's laughable to assert otherwise.

Yet they did not even entertain the possibility they shared some responsbility for violence against Trump due to the hyperbolic nature of their own language covering him, as well as the parallel rhetoric by politicians on the left they glamorize, when they have incessantly warned such language was responsible for violence by nutcases on the right. It's imbalanced, and hypocritical.

No worries. Let's leave it there

that idiot may as well have been rocking these plates:

Would-be assassin or Trump-supporting ‘sovereign citizen’? What we know about suspect Vem Miller

Police arrested a man they said was armed with multiple weapons and inconsistent identification documents just outside a Donald Trump rally on Saturday in Coachella Valley, California, in what officials are describing as a thwarted third assassination attempt against the former president.

However, the suspect – described as a “sovereign citizen” – is believed to be a Trump fan and told a news outlet he didn’t mean the Republican candidate any harm.

Here’s everything we know about suspect Vem Miller, 49, who has denied wrongdoing.

How was he arrested?

Deputies stopped suspect Vem Miller in a black SUV around 5pm on Saturday about half a mile from the rally, after he allegedly managed to make it through an initial security checkpoint by claiming VIP and media credentials.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said at a press conference on Sunday that at a second stop, a deputy noticed that Miller’s SUV was in “disarray” with an “obviously fake” license plate, prompting deputies to investigate further.

Police then found that Miller allegedly had multiple driver’s licenses and passports with different names and possessed a loaded handgun and shotgun, both unregistered, as well as a high-capacity ammunition magazine. Sheriff Bianco said the markings on the license plate indicated Miller was part of “a group of individuals that claim to be ‘sovereign citizens,’” a right-wing movement that doesn’t believe in the legitimacy of the government.

The Independent has contacted Miller for comment.

What charges is he facing?

“Miller was taken into custody without incident and later booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center for possession of a loaded firearm and possession of a high-capacity magazine,” the sheriff’s office said in the release.

Miller has denied he was near the rally to attack Trump.

The 49-year-old told Southern California News Group he was “shocked” to hear the arrest being described as an assassination plot, telling the outlet he’s a supporter of the former president.

“These accusations are complete bull****,” Miller said. “I’m an artist, I’m the last person that would cause any violence and harm to anybody.”

Sources close to the Trump campaign told Fox News there had been no assassination attempt at the Coachella rally.

Miller was released Saturday on bail and is scheduled to appear at the Indio Larson Justice Center in early January, according to the local Press Enterprise newspaper

The Riverside Sheriff’s Office said Sunday its investigation of Miller is likely near its end, and that any future charges would likely come from federal officials.

The Independent has contacted the FBI’s Las Vegas office for comment.

Who is Vem Miller?

Miller was described in a police press release as a 49-year-old resident of Las Vegas.

A LinkedIn page belonging to a Las Vegas man named Vem Miller describes its owner as “an investigative journalist, documentary filmmaker, and a content producer,” who has worked on projects for well-known networks including Netflix and VICE Media.

The page also suggests Miller was part of a successful music video director duo called Vem & Tony, and helped direct music videos for artists like DMX and Trey Songz, according to IMDB. A man who appears to be this Vem Miller can be seen making a brief appearance in the background of archival footage from the recent Kanye West documentary Jeen-Yuhs.

Social media belonging to a Vem Miller of Las Vegas shows as man posing for selfies with MAGA and conservative figures including Steve Bannon, Steven Miller, Russell Brand, Robert F Kennedy Jr and Newt Gingrich. A self-filmed video shows the same man at the Republican National Convention, describing “good people, good times”, and coming close to Donald Trump Jr as he walks past.

The social media account links to a content company called The American Happens Network, a network of documentaries and podcast featuring themes and figures associated with the political right, including a documentary about the assassination of John F Kennedy purportedly narrated by former Trump adviser Roger Stone, and a podcast hosted by Miller called Blood Money. The LinkedIn account describes Miller as a partner in the network.

A Rumble page for an online interview show called Where Are The Men? features a man named Vem Miller, whose appearance matches images on these social media accounts, interviewing popular right-wing figures, including British MP Nigel Farage and Trump supporter and My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell.

Is Vem Miller a Republican?

Miller has been described as a Republican by law enforcement, and public records viewed by The Independent suggest a 49-year-old Vem Miller from Las Vegas is registered with the GOP.

Sheriff Bianco said it didn’t matter what party Miller belonged to.

“I couldn’t care less what political party he belongs to,” the Riverside Sheriff said on Sunday, describing Miller as a “lunatic” who held “fringe” anti-government views. He said that as far as he was concerned, the man arrested was a suspected would-be assassin.

A Nevada man named Vem Miller ran for state assembly in Nevada’s District 13 as a Republican in 2022, according to the Nevada Secretary of State’s office.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, this Vem Miller was concerned with purported issues of voter fraud and was involved in an ongoing lawsuit claiming he and others had not been allowed to observe vote-counting. The paper also said he was in favor of solar energy projects and wanted to bring more electric car manufacturing to Nevada. He did not win the election.

Miller explicitly denied being characterized as a sovereign citizen, or any associations with sovereign citizen groups despite what that Sheriff alleges. Since it appears the Secret Service, FBI, and also well-networked journalists at FOX with close ties to Trump do not believe the assassination plot claims, either, I'm inclined to find Miller more credible than the Sheriff on those matters.

"Government is an inanimate object, it's the individuals within government that matter, so no, I'm not a part of any of that," Miller said. "They're saying that I'm part of these right-wing anti-government groups? Why aren't they naming these groups? Because it doesn't exist." Indeed. Why aren't these groups being named?

However, I most certainly do not believe Miller's claim that, "I've literally never even shot a gun in my life. I don't know anything about guns. I am beyond a novice" despite admitting carrying them around in his truck with him everywhere he goes. And the fake passport stuff is weird. I don't believe he's Armenian and they're legitimate.

The more tidbits that come out from this story the worse it makes the Sheriff look. He's making all sort of outlandish assumptions and public statements. He should have just quietly arrested the guy, and kept an eye on him. It sounds to me like the guy is a wannabe lone journalist, and he failed to secure a legitimate press pass to this event, so he thought he'd go guerilla journalist by just forging his own.

i'm not a sovereign citizen, i just put obviously fake license plates on my private mode of travel, and i have a really really hard time identifying myself to law enforcement when they ask to see my license and registration. now watch me do my one little trick of turning my traffic ticket into a bail hearing! - said every sovcit ever.

i guess he wasn't driving either. he was travelling.

this guy ain't the brightest crayon in the box. wonder if he'll try to represent himself at court?

i don't think it was an assassination plot either. that sheriff though is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

ahh yes, the good ole' deep state is back at it again. this genius right here was just about to expose the deep state and bring down the globalist cabal and the tyrannical establishment, until he decided to carry around a bunch of unregistered guns and fake id's inside of a car with funny plates on it and then drive....errr i mean travel into an area with high police presence.

the deep state didn't take too kindly to that at all, so they arrested.....errr he did not consent to being arrested....so the weaponized police officers (who under maritime law have no real authority over him) decided to kidnap him against his will and drop him off at the county jail.

he was so close to exposing the deep state you guys! we almost got to figure out the names of those people eating cats and dogs and sacrificing babies and drinking their blood inside of pizza shops. instead all we got is a dude who is going to stand in front of a judge and say that he is acting on behalf of the person/human being who goes by the name of Vern Miller right before he tells the judge that he does not believe in the government, the government does not exist, and that the judge and the court system has no authority or jurisdiction over him.

motherfucker probably just would have gotten a ticket, his guns seized, and his vehicle towed, but i guess he must have talked his way into travelling to jail. when will they ever learn?

oh yeah and it's probably not wise to drive around with illegal shit if you've got 2 or 3 fake id's in your wallet and some fake ass tags on your vehicle, personal leisure craft, travelling ship, or whatever the fuck you want to call it. you're going to find out just how much authority the police and court system do have over you and just how much of the law you are subject to after they drag your dumb ass out of the car, search your shit, and then travel your ass on down to the iron bars hotel.

Where are you drawing the sovereign citizen association?

The fact he was an "independent" reporter who favored conspiracies about the deep state, and didn't trust the mainstream media was known. As his other friend from Newsweek who wasn't with him on this trip claimed they were both normally granted press passes. It would appear he didn't get the press pass he wanted, and wasn't satisfied to attend as a normal citizen. He wanted the increased access afforded to members of media. So he forged those documents.

I haven't seen any known advocacies or associations with prominent Sovereign Citzen groups, beliefs, youtube channels, a social media history, or anything else like that reported.

i didn't draw the sovereign citizen association. the arresting officer did after they noticed his sovereign citizen tags, which is why they searched his shit and hauled his ass to jail, as they do to all of those idiots who drive around illegally with that shit on their cars.

he's not a sovereign citizen, but he just puts that shit all over his car hey? he must really want to eat some jail food after getting thrown into the back of a cop car by the first police officer that bats an eye at his vehicle (personal traveling craft). or maybe he's not a sovcit and he just puts those fake tags on his car strictly for aesthetic purposes? i mean sure that's believable too, like if i told you that i'm not a racist or a nazi, but i just like the design of my swastika tattoo.

looks like a duck, quacks like a duck. i mean sure the sheriff is overblowing the whole 'assassination' angle trying to play to his maga peers, but why would he lie about little things like the sovereign citizen tags? i mean obviously they seized the plates and his firearms and it has gone into evidence. it seems like a weird thing for you to want to nitpick over.

Chad Bianco is a solid sheriff but he does like his statements which usually gets in his own way.

He has a tendency to grandstand a bit and really lays it on thick with his base, which is usually solidly Trump supporters.

ive probably seen a good hundred of those videos by now and i get a good giggle out of it every time a new one comes up. these idiots are a dime-a-dozen and they all think they are being clever about breaking the law but the only thing they end up doing is making an idiot of themself and ensuring that the cops throw the book at them and haul them off to jail when they might have otherwise just ended up with a ticket or a vehicle impoundment if they would have just complied instead of doing their dance and being completely non-compliant.

he's not a sovereign citizen. he just puts that shit all over his car hey? he probably even tried to go around in circles reciting the same nonsensical script when asked to produce his license and registration too i'll bet. i mean we'll have to wait for the police report, but he was also carrying 2 or 3 different id's in his wallet with different names and shit. funny, a guy who has a really really hard time identifying himself at traffic stops and is driving around with sovereign citizen bullshit for tags is in no way a sovereign citzen right? i mean everybody else is, but just not him. he's special.

he just puts the sovereign tags on his car for aesthetic purposes and drives (travels) around illegally, just so that he can get pulled over by the first cop that bats an eye at his vehicle...err i mean his personal and non-commercial traveling ship, all just so that he can score some free jail food i guess. i mean how else are we supposed to spin that shit? what's next? "i'm not a racist or a nazi, but i just think that the design of my swastika tattoo looks cool" perhaps?

looks like a duck, quacks like a duck. i mean sure the sheriff is overblowing the whole 'assassination' angle trying to play to his maga peers, but why would he lie about little things like the sovereign citizen tags? i mean obviously they seized the plates and his firearms and it has gone into evidence. it seems like a weird thing for you to want to nitpick over.
How many paragraphs can you type to be a dozen posts behind? Are you reading anything?

The sovereign citizen claim by the Sheriff was already acknowledged, but as I have pointed out multiple times already, his claim about the assassination plot is disputed by the Secret Service, the FBI, and FOX journalists close to Trump (which is important because Trump's people would be concerned with this). Furthermore, his claim the man is associated with extreme right wing groups is unsubstantiated. He hasn't specified which sovereign citizen groups are associated with the fake plates. In fact, the only thing he did say about the plates is that they were "home made". So that would be at odds with any notion he was part of an organized group of people who signal affiliation to each other with commonly traded plates. Until more specific information about what was on the plate might connect it to another group, and he offered none, this allegation would appear spurious.

And the reason there is a smell to this is that Vem Miller neither hides nor denies that he was in possession of the guns, his deep state conspiracies, his anti-government and anti-MSM sentiments, nor his support for Trump. And there is already a history revealed that confirms all of these.

Meanwhile, there is nothing to indicate he is a sovereign citizen.

i cut it back a bit, it was too long for me to even try to read lol

dude i'm in a agreement with the whole "assassination" plot. i think that's all bullshit.

how can you try to argue that he's not a sovereign citizen, or at least acting in part as one, when the arresting officers and even the sheriff are coming out and saying that they became suspicious and searched his vehicle after seeing that he had sovereign tags on it? i mean obviously it's not their first day on the job, and they can easily recognize that shit.

i mean obviously those tags are going to be booked into evidence alongside of the firearms and whatever else they seized, just in case the defendant tries to argue the legality of the search. having those kind of fake tags on your car is grounds enough to warrant a vehicle search.

i mean i've already seen dozens of these sovcit dumbasses getting arrested with their home made tags, and their home made papers that they got off of 4chan, and i'm sure that the arresting officers are quite familiar with the nonsensical license plates and documents that these people carry around and the script that they spew and they can recognize these people quite easily, even before asking them "can i see your license and registration?", but hey, since we're trying to spin this, why don't you show us just what you believe these homemade tags of his look like?

i cut it back a bit, it was too long for me to even try to read lol

dude i'm in a agreement with the whole "assassination" plot. i think that's all bullshit.

I've only seen the Sheriff, who has already ruined his credibility pertaining to the arrested man, make that claim. Maybe I missed one, but I didn't see in any of the linked articles where the arresting officers asserted it. And there have been no details provided on what a "sovereign tag" is, what group of sovereign citizens it is associated with, why, and what those tags have in common.

Meanwhile, the arrested man appears to be mostly forthcoming and honest about who he is, who his friends are, what his history is, what he was doing there, and what his beliefs are. He has explicitly denied being a sovereign citizen.

nice dodge, so would you at least call it a safe bet that it contains the words "private" "non-commercial" "personal" or "travel" anywhere on those plates? do you think it even contains a valid license #?

it doesnt matter which subgroup these people may or may not group together with. these people are a dime-a-dozen and they all print out a bunch of whackadoodle papers, attach the same whackadoodle bullshit to their vehicles, and recite the same whackadoodle script every time they come in contact with law enforcement.

if i can easilly spot one of these people and recognize who they are and what they are all about without even saying as much as a word to them, then a trained police officer will have no difficulty in distinguishing them either. if the police are saying that they searched him after they seen the sovcit tags on his car, they at least know what they are talking about, because i'm sure they see this shit all of the time. i mean if you're a cop you're going to expect to come across a few of them along the way, even in a small hick town. they have no reason to lie about that.

Still need some more information on this incident to confirm it was a legit assassination attempt on Trump's life. What isn't surprising, is the leftists who immediately flock to the comments and do their best to discredit it and also claim it was a right winger. This happened in the previous two assassination attempts. It's really sad to see, but these same leftists are responsible for "HOW CAN YOU MISS?" hashtag that shot to the top of X within minutes of Trump being shot in the first attempt. They continue to lower the moral bar with everything they say.

You realize you can go back and look at the first page, right?

What exactly am I dodging? Your speculation? You think a bunch of speculations you dreamed up without evidential basis from the reports we're sharing deserve my attention?

It's important to establish a basis for an allegation. It appears you have none but the unreliable testimony of a Sheriff whose other claims about the arrested man are discredited by other federal law enforcement agencies.

Can you explain away the fake ids and fake plates?

Ah, I see. You're suggesting they don't even exist. <YeahOKJen>
