Rio Olympics

@Roads55 yea I watched the 2nd half, amazing event despite the fact that I've never watched the sport before.

Thinking of just breaking the bank on Usain Bolt for the 100m. Y'all really think he's gonna lose?? Lmao.

Injuries. "Slow" starter. Yeah, he could lose the 100m.

But it's incredibly tempting to place a bet on someone who's won Gold the past 2 Olympics. Plus he won the world championship in Beijing last year, and Gatlin is older than him.

Theres a reason why bookies offer specials on big names in sports. The masses over estimate their true odds of winning because of the name hype. Even if he wins, the bookie is getting value for their bets offered on big names. No such thing as a sure bet. If there was it wouldn't be called gambling.

Yeah he should be favored and he is. Far from a "lock" though.

been betting on the women's rugby 7's today, australia cleaned shop, GB completely smashed by NZ lol, sad it's over already, some good money available there. gotta say I'm a big rugby fan and it's the first time I've watched womens 7's and was pretty impressed with the skill level. gonna check out the men's games tomorrow too see what the betfair exchange markets are like. honestly though there's too much to keep up with hah.

I watch men's cycling and the tour de france each year, but one of the first time's I've seen the women's race. I was LB van vleuten when she was leading and had that bad crash on the descent, by far the loudest "fuck" I've shouted all year, glad she's ok, she was unconscious for a while I heard. I felt guilty as I was more upset at my bet at the time, that could of been a really serious injury, especially as it happened during light rainfall, which makes the descent extremely unsafe.
the end of the race was so freaking tense!! I would of lost a lot of money if abbot had held on and won, and had a very small profit if the field won, I was sweating buckets from 3km out lol, that chase was epic, then they caught her just before the line. mma betting seems a lot less stressful by comparison lol. but It really was a great finale to the race.

a similar thing happened in the mens race with nibali the big favourite in prime position to win the race falling very close to the same place as van vleuten, some of the commentators were saying some of the downhill corners were unnecessary hazards, they could easily have fallen of the side and down the mountain ffs!

She fractured her spine and is in ICU still...oh, I see she's tweeted she is OK. Crazy that video though.

yikes, a fractured spine on top of a hefty concussion among the scrapes and bruises, that sounds terrible, hope it won't hinder her career in the future. yeah I didn't know it was that bad, I guess I saw her tweet on some sports headline somewhere and assumed it was just the concussion.

Yea I was rooting hard for the Swedish chick but I still was kind of upset about that crash. It looked really bad.

That said I had no bet so whatever. Think she would've won if she kept from falling thought.

Olympic Soccer today

$5 Portugal-Argentina $5.05
This cashed & both nations look to me to be the class sides in the Olympics.

Argentina are -203 to beat Honduras which they should manage comfortably enough, despite missing their suspended Captain.

Portugal(-102) play Algeria but I'm giving this game the swerve. Algeria are too dangerous on the break & the Portuguese's tackling is a bit reckless. Algeria took Argentina to the brink & got their Capt sent off for a cpl reckless tackles on their pacy frontline.

Sth Korea looked like they had the cardio to play 3 games straight against Germany(wink-peds-wink) & are quite capable up front so I'm gonna take them as dogs to beat an erratic Mexican side.

$5 Argentina-Sth Korea $18.32 L

I think the safer bet for all 3 matches would be the over 2.5 goals.

For women's soccer I put something small on Canada to not lose. Also put something small on draw no bet for Canada.

One thing to add....the reffing in basketball seems so rigged.

All odds are up on UK books vjkram for wrestling. Who you liking?
Teddy Riner in men's super heavyweight judo is -250. Steep price but no way he loses. Parlay fodder for sure
Yeah Riner seems like a decent parlay fodder, maybe Saori Yoshida too.

Its actually less tempting for me because he won the last 2 olympics

He aint getting younger and he aint getting hungrier

Put a U down on Del Pot winning the gold

Murray will likely handle him but @+800 its worth a unit for me, plus I'm a huge fan

.2 U Denmark to not lose and .1 u on Draw No Bet Denmark for Men's Olympic Soccer.

Also put u2.5 goals for Denmark vs Brazil in various parlays.

Brazil couldn't score against South Africa or Iraq even though they have Neymar on the team and Denmark has not allowed a goal yet.
