Rio Olympics

Selimov 10/3 +333, Alvarez 10/3 +333 joint favourites. Conceicao is out at 16/1 +1600.

16/1? Oh my god.

Here, check this out if you have a few minutes and see if you can see the value in that line, especially considering where the Games are taking place.

Conceicao holds a win over Alvarez as well as the loss to him a few years ago. Last August at the Pan American Championships, Conceicao was judged to be the unanimous decision winner over Alvarez in the tournament final for that weight class. Don't know if the judging was fair or not, but there it is.

From what I understand that's the only two times Conceicao and Alvarez have faced each other. The Worlds in 2013 and then this tournament last year.

Conceicao also won the pre-Olympic tournament last December by winning a unanimous decision over the veteran Tojibayev in the finals, who was the APB champion for the weight class and also has a fair chance to medal this month.

Conceicao also won the prestigious Giraldo Cordova Cardin tournament down in Cuba a couple of months back and did so by defeating a hometown Cuban by unanimous decision in the finals.

Good stuff Sharkey, I'm on board. Don't expect him to win but he's +1800 now. He looked just fine there vs the supposed co-favorite. Putting a little on Conceicao.

Cheers man. Brazil is more than likely to win at least one gold medal in the ring than not this month just for being the host country, and with Conceicao being their top boxer and who has already proven himself able to hang with the best in this weight class already, I'm thinking he's probably the guy that benefits. +1800 is insane value to my eyes. Like really insane.

Betsafe have Antonio Vargas still at 24/1 +2400 for flyweight Olympic boxing. Bet down to 9/2 +450 everywhere else.

I'll be rooting for this girl. She goes to my school, and supposedly has a decent chance this year.

I usually dont do 4 legged parlays but kinda tempted to go with:

Djokovic (tennis) + Williams (tennis) + Bolt (200m) + Riner (judo) @ +641.

@EzFlyer Any thoughts about Tennis olympics?

Betsafe also have Estelle Mossely at 15/2 +750 in the women's lightweight boxing which is a good price. Hearing that the hot favourite Katie Taylor is worth fading but not sure who to go with. Mossely is in the other side of the draw so would only face Taylor in the final.

Oooh, that's gutsy. I like it.

Really Liking Dafne Schippers, especially in the 200m.
Not as confident on Gatlin as i once was, i made those bets when Bolts participation was in minor doubt. Think Gatlin has a chance in the 100m but can't see him winning the 200.

Anyway shout out to the people who's bets I've tailed (Sham - Field, Xuh - Wrestling, Sharkey - Boxing) Good luck all!

don't know a whole lot about him other than he won gold at the pan ams but managed to get vargas at 34 to 1 and he's now down to 19 to 1 (sportsinteraction).

Watching the women's beach volleyball while waiting for Sweden's first gold (and second medal for the day). Swiss player Joana Heidrich is absurdly pretty, although my google skills can't really find any evidence of that. I've got a new team to cheer for.

anyone watch the women's road race yesterday? what a crazy finish, some amazing odds available in the few events I've seen so far.
Any thoughts about Tennis olympics?
Obviously murray is a big fav now, and 3 set tournies are more dangerous to bet on outright, but I still think there's value on murray at just above evens. I haven't looked at the draw yet though.
we know this means a lot to murray, he said in an interview about how he led out the team GB contingent being the biggest moment of his career or something similar to the same effect.

his confidence must be at an all time high after winning wimbledon again and knowing he has a fantastic chance at winning gold now that nole went out. the usual contenders in federer/nadal are too far past it at this point to challenge him imo. nishikori fails at the big moments and del potro is untested in multiple matches vs top players since his return, Hard to know what shape he's in and whether injuries are still a concern for him.
goffin could do well and @ 35/1 ish, and I guess cilic has a decent chance too, considering the format, I don't rate him as a top player at GS level as he lacks the ability and mental strength to compete vs the top players over 5 sets, but this will be easier for him over 3 sets.
