Resident Evil 3 Remake

I actually went through it earlier lol.

People should direct their complaining to some place it could have an affect.
Yeah, I left some feedback too actually. If they're asking then I guess they're planning on listening.

just finished it with an A rating. i enjoyed it. it didn't overstay it's welcome and yeah it was a bit short but i feel like i could go back through this one again. the only thing i didnt like was the reduced zombie gore but i get it, there were tons more around.

I agree it's not worth $60. I paid $40 on PC and got my moneys worth. For most, I'd say wait for $30 or less unless you are a big RE fan.

These days, I like short and sweet and I'm ready to move on to other games.

It's funny, I see a lot of criticism saying that it is too expensive and 60 dollars is too much.

Whilst, at the same time, I check out the "How much do you earn?" thread in the mayberry, and most Sherdoggers earning way more than 50k a year ... lol, which is it?

I, personally, don't earn a huge amount of money, but parting with 60 dollars is literally not a big deal to me at all.

I agree.

Personally, I hate when games go on for too long.

I really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption, but damn, that story-line just dragged on forever at times ... It is the same with modern movies, nowadays, everything is 3 hours long ... ugh.

RE3's pacing was just right.

I hope they release some DLC for this game soon. I want more costumes etc.

It's going to be super-tough to do justice to RE4 with a remake, imo.

I, honestly, didn’t like RE4. To me, it wasnt resident evil.

- no zombies.
- no fixed camera angles.
- lack of puzzles.
- feeling like you are on a rail car.
- The storyline had nothing to do with RE 1.2.3.
- it feels like a generic action game with Resident Evil branding slapped on it.

If they can remake RE4, but:

- include zombies.
- keep the same gameplay as RE2 remake and RE3 remake.
- Add more puzzles/keys etc.
- Make it more exploratory.
- Have more characters, plotlines that connect to previous titles.
- Have Resident Evil sounds/atmosphere, make it feel more like a Resy game.

If it can do all of this, I’d be interested.

RE4 was a natural evolution of the series, imo, although I'm somewhat purist too in that I like the original style of games. It wasn't as watered down as you're making it sound, I think. Now RE5 and 6 are another matter, but 4 was a fantastic entry in the series from my point of view.

IMO, the popularity of RE4, led to RE5 and RE6.

I honestly think people liked RE 4, because it was novel and groundbreaking for its time. By the time RE5 and RE6 came out, people were getting sick of it.

This popularity of RE4 also, largely led to the death of the fixed camera angle, true survival horror of RE 1, 2, 3, Dino Crisis, Silent Hill etc. genre ... for that indirect reason, RE4 gets a another strike down from me.

RE4 is a Top #20 GOAT game, still.

RE5&6 are shit not because of its over-the-shoulder camera or other aspects carried over from RE4, but because of 20+ other reasons not related to RE4.

little redundant with a lack of villain variety but its okay overall. i played all these upon first release so no need to waste my money on a remake now. overall id say 7/10

I like RE4 but to me, it was a clear shift to action game which I didn't like. I thought it was good but I never saw it at this masterpiece of a game because I was mad they turned a horror/survival horror series into an action game.

I'm down for a remake because I'd like to see it on the new engine and hopefully to make it more in line with survival horror.

Love RE4

Consistently on Greatest of All Time gaming lists. There’s a reasons it’s one of the most ported games ever.

I can’t believe that RE3 remake is getting slammed by critics so badly.

Yet, a lot of these same people “loved RE2”.

A lot of the critics are citing problems with RE3 that were also problems in RE2. I.e. missing content, missing plot points.

I, initially, was very critical of RE2, but eventually came round to liking it, purely because I stopped comparing it to the original and just treated it as it’s own game.

I got so much flack for openly criticising that game. Yet, now people are hating RE3 for the same reasons, lol.
